Adding VALUE With Your Private Label Products …How To Stand Out From The Competition

Oliver Denyer explains how to stand out selling private label products on Amazon. Focus on what customers actually want, optimize your listing, and find ways to differentiate in crowded niches.
How do you get inside the head of an Amazon customer? Find out what they care about. So for them, buying your product is a no brainer. In this video, I'll teach you how to stand out from the competition on Amazon so you can charge a premium price for your products, even if your products aren't materially different to the other products on the marketplace. Hey, how's it going? It's Ollie here. So let's say you want to compete in a niche where there's 50 sellers already selling their products, quite a few reviews in there which look a bit intimidating, and a lot of these products are well established in the marketplace. How do you enter that niche and make your product stand out? How do you get to page one of the search results and get a huge slice of the revenue? Is it down to Facebook ads? Is it down to making YouTube videos about your product? Spamming it all over social media? Creating blog posts to promote it? Well, maybe that's one piece of the puzzle, but really most of the stuff that will make your products stand out happens before you even import anything. So the number one key to making your products jump out on the page at customers when they're deciding what to buy is understanding your customers desires. Luckily, we have got heaps of solid data we can use to understand our customers desires. You go to the review section on any product on the Amazon database. You can. You'll see exactly what customers are pissed off about and what they love. These two hints will tell you everything you need to know about what customers wish was available on the platform. So once you've had a look through the reviews of competing products, you can come in with a product that fulfills all of those customers desires and then automatically you're setting yourself up for success. So let's take an example. There's one product I was looking at the other day which is a set of ice cube trays. They're made of silicone and they've got lids on them. So a bunch of customer reviews on one of the top competing products were people complaining that the lids kept coming off the ice cube trays. They were really annoyed about this. They were giving one or two star reviews for the product. So whenever a customer is really annoyed about something, it's because they bought this product because they thought it was going to fulfill their desire, but then it failed to do so. So now I know that if I import an ice cube tray with a lid that stays on securely, I can make my product stand out in the marketplace and get a huge chunk of the sales in that niche. So once you've identified these desires, you want to offer products that are better than what's available on the marketplace or vastly different and have new designs that fulfill their these desires. Now sourcing and importing a product that fulfills all these desires. Throwing up for sale on Amazon isn't really enough to compete, especially as Amazon's getting more and more competitive. So how do you ensure customers know that your product is going to fulfill their desires and they're going to be really happy with it. So for them, making the buying decision a no brainer? Well, this all comes down to how you build your listing. Remember, when someone's going to buy a product from you on Amazon, they're not going to be able to see or touch the product. All the information they have about how good your product is is presenting on that listing. So you better make sure it's optimized as much as possible. One of the easiest ways to optimize your listing and make sure it's really, really well put together is to make sure you're capturing these desires that customers want in your product and putting them all over your listing as benefits. Put them in the title, in the description, in the bullets, so wherever the customer looks when they glance at your listing, they can see that it's going to be the product for them. So apply all these tips. You'll easily be able to add value with your products to the marketplace. Get more more customers, get more sales and get more profit. Hope you found this video useful.
