Tommy Dobczyk breaks down the economics of assisted-living and developmental brain injury facilities. Daily revenue runs $800 to $8,000, but brain-specialist doctors cost $450,000 to $550,000 a year. Even with those expenses, facilities can clear about $100,000 monthly if they get the staffing right.
Are you in the deal room?
These get anywhere between $800 and $8,000 a day depending on what they've got going on inside of them. So they make a lot of, a lot of money off of those places. And you got to bring on a brain specialist and stuff like that. The cost to a— I know brain specialists go for $450,000 to $550,000 a
year. So the— let's see, like the expense on the residential assisted living with the same type of beds is around, I don't know, $25,000, $30,000. Maybe
I would, I would want to see their breakdown of their expenses for a DBI just to make sure that all the bases are covered. Because again, yeah, we'll take care of DBIs, but if you don't have specialists to justify that, it's not going to stay afloat very long. Because when the audits come down from like if they're getting subsidy or anything like that, the audits come down, there's going to be some scrutiny on that. And then if they're private pay only, the market will take them
out. Well, they're actually— it's actually going to be doctors and nurses that are doing
this, right? Well, and again, that's what I want to make sure, because I just being in the industry, I know how much nurses make. I know how much doctors make. I know how much all those people make. And some people that only do, you know, only do real estate wouldn't have a clue what a doctor makes. They'd have to go ask a doctor, be like, hey, does this sound right? Does this look right? And so I
think I, I kind of tripled all the cost in my head when she was telling me about it. And it still was about 100 grand a month profit.
