Tommy Dobczyk exposes how free estimates in cleanup projects lowball costs by 10x. A 19-acre site quoted at $500,000 actually costs $5 million. Contractors use fake low numbers to justify bids and hire nonexistent providers.

This has to go through free estimates and say, is this valid? Okay. Right. Because if we— if this ain't valid, what they're doing is they're putting this out there as, oh, it's only going to cost $500,000 to clean up 19 acres when it's more like $5 million. You know what I mean? And so they're trying to justify it. And then we get out there and we go to hire this guy and this guy doesn't even freaking exist.
