Two worksheets help teachers guide students through reflection after a meltdown. Ask what triggered it, what calmed them down, and how to prevent it next time. This turns de-escalation into a chance to build self-awareness and repair the relationship.
These two behavior reflection worksheets, one with words and one with picture options, are awesome for the repair step of de-escalation. After a child is completely de-escalated, then you can work, work on the teaching and repair. And if appropriate, use a reflection tool which— with the student, um, focusing on what made them upset, what helped them feel better, and then what you can do in the future. There's a lot of learning that can be done with the student to help avoid the situation in the future. So definitely work on this reflection piece and repairing with that student.
