Hi, this is Sasha from TheAutismHelper.com, and this is a product preview of Community Social Studies, but it would also be great to hit some of those IEP goals. A lot of our kids have IEP goals about community signs because it's a really great functional thing to work on, but sometimes we don't always have as many opportunities to actually get out into the community as we think we will. So it's really nice to work on this in the classroom as well. So this pack is really big. There's a ton of different materials for lower functioning students and higher functioning students. I really want to make sure to differentiate things so all members of your classroom can really be included. So I'm gonna scroll through real fast to show you what's in here. There are 16 different flashcards of different community signs with the description. So I picked common ones they'll see as well as driver ones like speed limit and things like that. Um, the first game is a "What Sign Is It?" and each card can— has a clue and you have to pick which community sign. So this can be done as a game in a group or you could laminate these and have kids go through with a dry erase marker and have it as an independent activity. So either way, so there's a bunch of different cards for those. Um, next there are 3 different file folder activities. So with all my file folder activities, I like to include a lot of labels because if it's not labeled, you're gonna lose it. So here are the label for the file folder, the tab, and the baggie. The first one is just a basic matching community signs. This is a great task for some of your lower-level learners. A lot of these signs do look similar, so this is really working on discriminating as well. Next is matching community signs to names, so kind of taking it one step farther. Here are the names and they'll match the sign. And then the hardest level is matching community signs to definitions, so a great independent task for some of your higher-level learners. So here are the definitions and they have to match the community sign. So this is really pretty tricky. So 3 different, um, file folders included in here. Next are the different fill-in worksheets. So there's a lot of levels of these, again, to include all types of learners in your class. The first are matching community signs to the meaning, and then next are just basic matching community signs. I love to laminate these and use dry erase markers so we can reuse them and have them in color. That works really well for us. Um, next are different kind of making inference worksheets. So you see this kind of sign coming up, what should you do? So not only do you have to know the definition, but you have to infer your action. So that's a little bit trickier and a great skill to work on for some of your higher-level kids. Next are some definition worksheets, so this is great just to even practice copying from the flashcards. Next is Community Sign Bingo. There's 2 levels of play: the easy level with just the words and the hard level with the definitions. And then there are 15 bingo boards, so go through all these. And last but not least, my all-time favorite game, I have to include in every unit I do, I Have Who Has. I love this game because it works on building attention and peer interactions while also adding in that content. So laminate these, cut out the cards, pass them out. It goes in a circle, basically. I have the pedestrian crossing, who has the do not enter? So it'll scroll through all the different signs. Kids really have to pay attention to each other, which I love. So that's everything included in this Community Sign Mega Pack. Again, a lot of us have IEP goals related to this, so this is a great way to target those IEP goals using all these awesome visuals. Again, this is a product preview of the Community Sign Mega Pack by theautismhelper.com.
