A teacher walks through setting up editable monthly calendars in PowerPoint for the whole school year. Add school closures, birthdays, and events by moving text boxes, then print. The PDF version is ready to go if you skip editing.

Hi guys, I just want to show you how I use these calendars and edit them. I really encourage teachers to set it up for the whole year so you're not at, you know, the end of the month struggling to find the next page or get it ready for the next month. So I like to really set it all up in the start of the year. I use the editable version. I go through and add any days off from our calendar, when Christmas break is, when Thanksgiving break, things like that, and then everyone's birthday. And then for each individual— and then I print those. And then for anything else that we're gonna add, like parties parties or things like that, we just write it on here. Um, so you'll get a PDF version if you just want it ready to go, um, you don't want to deal with editing, you can obviously use that. And then the other version you'll get is this PowerPoint. So there's instructions on how to get the right kind of fonts, how to do this, but basically you're just going to add text boxes. I like to even just copy the ones that are already there and move them to the day you want it to. So if John's birthday is on the 14th, I'm going to move this text box and say John's birthday and add that right in. So I really like to add everyone's birthday in there. You know, Sarah's birthday is over here, all of that. So I like to add those days and then anything else from the calendar. Like if you have a professional development day on the 26th and there's no school, I go ahead and add that and then copy one of the no school icons for the weekend. That's like the main thing that my students really need is the no school icons because that's obviously the big change. So that's what I really make I would advocate adding all of this in at the start of the year. And then of course, you know, you can delete anything if there's things your school doesn't celebrate or that you don't want on there, of course. So all of the different months. Having it all ready to go at the start of the year is so, so helpful and so essential. So just some quick tips about monthly calendars.
