When taking an iPad away, don't snatch it. Set a timer, check how long the current video has left, and wait for it to end. Tell your child "when this is done, we'll be finished" to make the transition smoother.

Let's talk about this guy. One really hard thing when students have an iPad break is giving the iPad back when they're done. If this is you, if your kids are struggling, I get that. Something that I found that's really helpful, especially with technology, YouTube, Netflix, video games, is waiting for the natural break in videos. If you're, you know, set a timer for 5 minutes and you're like, okay, your 5 minutes on the iPad is done, and then you come snatch it away, they might be in the middle of their favorite video. I mean, that would annoy you, right? If someone just turned off your show in the middle of it, that would annoy me. Instead, wait for the natural break. Look behind them, see what video they're on, see how many more minutes there are. Give that transition warning of, okay, when this is all done, this video's done, then we're gonna be finished. That could really help decrease those negative behaviors that go along with that hard transition.
