Gina from The Autism Helper reviews a custom foam board communication board, 18" × 24", made through Staples for about $13. She shows how teachers use it across circle time, small groups, and learning centers to model core words like "I want" and "make the truck go," with peer models reinforcing language learning.

Hi everyone, this is Gina from The Autism Helper. I'm so excited y'all like the large core board that we use in our classrooms. It's so easy to have made. So first of all, we had it made at Staples. It's actually printed on a foam board, so it's really, really durable. If you can see that, it's also laminated, so definitely lasts a lot longer. They start at $13, and we'll link the website for you where you can design them. And then of course, as you add on stuff, they go up a little higher and depends on price, but again. This one's an 18 by 24 and has lamination on it. I love it. I love using it during circle time, small group. I use it down on the floor with the kids. I take it into the play areas and centers to really model language. And then our peer models love to use it as well. And we always do a core word of the week, and it's obviously incredibly easy to see and helps us out when we want to point, you know, "I want" or play, make the truck go, you can make dollhouses open— no, I don't like that— put the blocks on, put them in, dump them out. There's so many different things that you can do with any Core Board, let alone a really, really big one like this. So definitely worth the money, and check out Staples.
