Hi, this is Sasha from The Autism Helper, and this is a product preview of my Functional Literacy File Folder Activities. So when you get this resource, it's going to be a zip file, which is the main resource, the PDF with all the file folders, and then one editable personal info activity. I'm going to show this really quick. Um, there's correct directions on how to set this up, but basically you can edit it to create first, last name, and school spelling task for your kids. So that's the only one that's editable since obviously I don't know your kids' personal information. So within this file folder set, there are between 4 to 6 file folders that are aligned to each level of the Functional Literacy Curriculum. So there's a table of contents that clearly shows which units are where, and you can print them out all together or do it unit by unit. So each one is labeled color-coded with the Level 1, Unit 1, so they're easy to organize and all based on the skills included. I am really, really happy with how these turned out. I love the Functional Literacy Curriculum. Curriculum. So this was fun to make and look at and kind of check out because I think this hands-on component is going to be really key. Um, so Unit 2 looks at calendar vocabulary, so there's a lot of different activity in there. The number and color vocabulary. Unit 3 goes to self-care. Each unit that has a vocabulary focus will have one of these longer file folders where you're matching the same vocabulary multiple times. I really like these longer tasks to build work endurance. To me, that's really key. These ones are great: sorting the function of text, whether it's date, size, price, name, or hours. These would be awesome to utilize along with the anchor charts that come in the curriculum. Again, this is really designed to kind of be that hands-on component of the curriculum. Sorting signs by feature, one of my favorites. Also sorting signs that say "go in" versus "don't go in." Labeling functions of signs. Kitchen vocabulary. Sorting, labeling by size. These are really great, filling in the missing label and then sorting by small, medium, and large. Community travel is in the next unit. And what's next? Same and different. These are awesome, identifying if these pairs are same or different. Sorting broken and not broken for the mechanics and repair vocabulary. And then some preposition practice here at the end with our money management vocabulary. So there's a lot. I think, um, there's 128 pages. I think there's almost 40 file folders included. I just really love having the hands-on component, especially for our Level 1 learners. And the functional literacy is just such a great, um, opportunity to work on all— generalizing all those great literacy skills. So again, this was a product preview of Level 1 Functional Literacy by theautismhelper.com.
