Fluent readers still benefit from text-based schedules with specific times. Use clear descriptions, teach students to manage their own time, and design schedules you can easily update by crossing off completed activities.

Let's remember that text is a visual too. If your students are fluent readers, they still need an individual schedule to show them how to navigate their day, but use text. They don't need pictures, and use also the times of day. Then we can start to work on managing our own time. We can use these schedules when there are changes in our day. We can cross off things that are not happening. These are so key. Schedules are functional. We all utilize schedules, so make the one that is accessible and understandable for your student.
