Somer, I am Jen and I am one of the bloggers here at The Autism Helper. And this school year I had a little bit of a conundrum. I had students who surpassed the Easy Matching Weekly Workbooks. That's a great problem to have. My students had learned to do these books independently. They were doing simple matching tasks and errorless tasks, but I was really struggling with something that was high interest like these transportation books or these space books, or even things that went along with the theme that I had going in my classroom, like winter. And I had nowhere to go. Enter The Autism Helper. Of course, they came out with a brand new product that I cannot wait to share with you, and they expanded on the Easy Matching Weekly Workbooks. These are the Intermediate Matching Weekly Workbooks, and I cannot wait to show you. But first, I wanna show you what an Easy Matching Weekly Workbook looks like so you know what to compare it to. So this is the space version of Easy Matching Weekly Workbook. And you can see I'm simply organizing by color. I have an errorless task of putting the astronauts on the moon, and I have identical matching. Pretty much, that's what easy matching weekly workbooks are. So what The Autism Helper did was take those concepts and bump them up just a little bit. What I really love about the intermediate books is that you can scale the complexity of them to meet your students' needs. I'll show you what I mean. Each book has lots of concepts that you'll be working on. This page is working on sorting big and little, and you'll see that there is a picture prompt on the page. So if I take off all of these pencils there is one pencil left printed on the page. But if I didn't want to use a picture prompt and I wanted to make this a little bit more difficult for students, I could give them the page without the picture prompts. These are included in your download, and so it just makes it great to be able to customize it towards your students and their current abilities and skills so you can give them that little push to have a challenge. So here we are matching color words to colors. We are doing a little bit more complex of a pattern. This is the Wednesday book. Here we're matching non-identical pictures, so similar picture, but students have to match that non-identical version. Sometimes we have a different color, sometimes we have a different image, but it's still a stack of books. And we have to do some direction following. Now this is another one, this is a complex task, right? It's not too hard, but it's definitely not easy matching. Well, one thing you could do here is you could put only these items on the page for the student to pull over, and you could have them practice counting as they go. They could put 3 pencils on, 1 eraser, 2 pens. Or if you want to give your students more of a challenge, it comes with extra pieces. So I could have a field of two scissors, and then students have to read one pair of scissors and then pull that over. You can also see here we've got empty and full, and again we have the picture prompt, but just like in the last one, we can choose to use the page that has no picture prompts. Some of the books have simple addition. It doesn't go past 5, which I think is great, and we give lots of picture cues for students to be able to count and then add on. And then here we are matching the word number to the actual number, the written number. Here, look, we've got a bunch of scissors. You've got to orient them and match them to the appropriate Shadow. And here we're sorting by where the kids are dressed for. Are they dressed for the stage or are they dressed for the gym? This is the very first version of intermediate books that The Autism Helper has put out, and I for one am super excited about it. I have so many students that can benefit from a little bit harder of a task, and I know that these are going to be the perfect fit.
