Printing a Poster-Sized Master Schedule for your Classroom

Jen shows how to make a poster-sized classroom schedule using a free Google template, then print it at 250% scale across multiple pages and tape them together. The 3-by-4-foot schedule displays activities in 5-minute intervals so staff and students can see where everyone should be at any time.

This is Jen from The Autism Helper. Whenever I have a blog post that includes my master schedule, I always get a ton of questions about how I get it that large. My master schedule is about 3 feet by 4 feet wide, and I have it posted so everyone who comes in my classroom instantly knows where a student is and what they're supposed to be doing, and related services, if they're looking for makeup times, can easily access our classroom schedule. So today I'm going to show you how you can do that yourself. So to make this schedule, I actually have a free resource on the Autism Helper, and it's a base schedule to where you can customize this for the students on your caseload. So over here under kindergarten, first, and second grade, I have three different grade levels. You don't have to put grade levels here. You can put student names here. For me, I just like to put all my kindergartners together, all my first graders together, and all my second graders together. Then on each day in 5-minute intervals, you're going to put what each student is doing or is supposed to be doing. You can use this right here if you want for some subjects to color code, but you can create your own. What really matters is that you've got your schedule laid out on this spreadsheet. It's a Google Doc, so anybody can use it. Then when you're ready to print, I want you to go up to the print button. And then over here, I want you to go to scale. You're gonna choose a custom percentage. You're gonna type in 250. This is the size that I use. And when you do that, you're gonna see that this document increases significantly and it's gonna print over multiple pages. So when you print this, you're going to have a ton of pages, but what you're going to do is you're going to tape them together, and then you're going to have a giant poster-size schedule that anybody can reference. Everybody knows where your students are, and nobody has to ask if so-and-so is available. It's a great way to keep everybody on the same page and keep all of your students working and organized. If you have any questions, definitely let me know. Thanks guys, have a great day!
