Hi, this is Sasha from theautismhelper.com, and this is a product preview of 150 Vocabulary Words for Early Childhood or Special Education. So this packet is made, designed to kind of use for the whole year if you'd like. So I included the list of 150 words, and if you download the preview on Teachers Pay Teachers or Teachers Notebook, you'll be able to see the entire list of words. So these words are picked from 2nd and 3rd grade vocab, common vocabulary words. As well as life skills words, so common words that we use a lot in our daily vocabulary that are related to more community and life skills functioning that often kids need kind of direct training on learning. So here's the list of 150 words, so it includes all types of speech and a big range of types of words. And then there is a data sheet that you could use with each student, what date they started it, what date they mastered, so you can keep track of how they are learning the 150 words. And I'm going to use these words for my homework because homework has kind of become a little bit of a pain for me. So here is the weekly vocabulary worksheet. If you are going to do 5, you can have each kid write out their words for the week and they can bring it home to study if they want. And then here's the weekly vocabulary homework. So my students will be writing in each spot the 5 vocabulary words, and there's a worksheet for each day of the week. So here's Monday's worksheet, writing 5 times each. Tuesday's worksheet, writing the definition. Wednesday's worksheet, writing a sentence. Thursday, drawing 2 pictures. And Friday's worksheet is writing a word that is similar. So that's what I'm going to be doing for homework, but you could also use those just in your classroom as extra worksheets during independent or downtime. This would also be a great activity for students to do that finish early and just have these on hand since these can be used for any of the words. That you are using for the week. Here are the flashcards. I have a word flashcard and a definition flashcard because I'm going to be posting these near my morning group center so we can practice putting these together. Once we have a lot down, maybe we could practice sorting them and matching the words with the definition. Each one has the word and the definition. You could also, if you wanted, tape these back to the same flashcard. Do the word on one side of the flashcard and the definition on the other to practice learning the vocabulary that way too. So however you want to design it, because these are small enough to fit on a flashcard as well. I'm just going to be printing these on cardstock, or actually I'll probably even do regular paper, a little heavier paper, and, and I'm not going to laminate them because there's so many. So here's the different words and their definitions. So I purposefully wrote the definitions very simple and concrete for kids with autism and other kids with special needs. A lot of times the definition is harder to understand than the word. Language is difficult for our kids, so explaining something with language can be really hard. So I tried to make these definitions very succinct and very easy to understand so that this would be accessible to a lot of types of children. So here are all the 150 words. So again, it'll be enough for 5 a week for the whole year. Um, yep, that was a product preview of 150 Vocabulary Words for Early Childhood Special Education.
