product preview - 2013 2014 visual monthly calendar

Angela Kulcsar shows a visual monthly calendar for children with autism, covering August 2013 through July 2014. Teachers can edit the PowerPoint to add birthdays, field trips, and assemblies, then print pages for students' schedule binders. Visual symbols mark weekends and holidays to help kids with language delays understand what's coming.

And this is a product preview of my visual monthly calendars for children with autism 2013-2014. So when you download, it's gonna be a zip drive, so you're gonna open it up and there's gonna be two options in there. There's the editable calendar, which is on PowerPoint, and then there's the PDF version. So I did want to include the editable one because you can then add your own dates, your own special birthday parties, or birthdays, special events for your school year. I'm gonna scroll through the PDF version first, but they are both identical. So these are from August 2013 through July 2014. Each page is very structured and kind of follows the same format. The weekends all have a no school icon, and then major holidays or special events are indicated with the visual. So these are so essential for my classroom because my students really need that routine and those visuals to show when new events are coming. So for example, when I edit this myself, I'm going to put in when Christmas break is. In the editable version, I give directions on how to edit it, how to move any of the images, or how to add your own text boxes so you can customize this to exactly your classroom's needs. So if there's events that your students are particularly looking forwards to or maybe are more challenging, maybe an assembly or a spelling bee, things that are a little bit harder, you can add those in. So here on the editable version, it's just on a PowerPoint, so it's really easy to change. I'm gonna go ahead and make mine for the year and put them in my students. Here's the instructions. And put them in my students' um schedule binder so it's going to be ready to go. So I'll add the first day of school, any birthdays, major field trips, and then I'll type those up and then throughout the years we go we'll just write in any changes. So it'll be all right here and the visuals really honestly do help with those kids with lower receptive and expressive language. I think indicating the weekends a little bit more clearly gives them that difference because that's such a huge differential in their life during the week where it's and on the weekend we're at home, so adding the visuals for that really does help. Alright, this was a product preview of 2013 and 2014 Visual Monthly Calendars from TheAutismHelper.com.
