Sasha shows a laminated visual ordering system that helps autistic kids independently order at McDonald's, Wendy's, and Burger King. Kids pick food cards, build a sentence strip with Velcro, and hand it to the cashier. It cuts anxiety in unfamiliar places.

Hi, this is Sasha from theautismhelper.com, and this is a product preview of Fast Food Ordering Visual. So I use this visual for, you know, your basic fast food restaurants: McDonald's, Wendy's, Burger King. This gives the kids a chance to order on their own. I use this with both verbal and nonverbal students because even some of our kids that are verbal still need that extra prompt, especially when in the community with an unfamiliar person in a more anxiety-provoking environment. So it's pretty simple. This is the base page, so you would laminate this and put hard Velcro in each of the boxes. And then here's the sentence strip, and this, again, this whole page would be laminated, and you could put hard Velcro in these boxes too, and then cut this whole piece out and put soft Velcro on the back so it would kind of be stored right here on the bottom. And there's a picture of this up here to kind of give you a cue. And then you can store the main, um, the main food items, the chicken nuggets, cheeseburger, those kind of things here, and then the sides and the drinks. So kind of the idea is of ordering a meal. So you could pull down, "I want chicken nuggets, french fries, and Sprite." And then the student can pull off the sentence strip and hand it to the cashier to order on their own.
