Sasha from TheAutismHelper.com presents Healthy Habits, an interactive book that teaches hygiene and health skills to junior high and high school students. Students match labeled pieces to habit prompts like brushing teeth, showering, and applying deodorant, with each page ending in the affirmation "I know, I can." The matching difficulty adjusts with non-identical pieces, and the format works for other topics too.

Hi, this is Sasha from TheAutismHelper.com, and this is a product preview of Healthy Habits, an adapted book about health and hygiene. So if you teach really any grade, but especially junior high and high school, hygiene is something that you really need to be talking about a lot. Puberty is an age that's really difficult for a lot— all kids, and we need to make sure that we're really working on teaching our kids how to maintain being healthy. So here in this book are the different pieces and the label for the baggie. So this baggie— this is an interactive book, so kids are going to be taking pieces and matching them. So each book book follows— each page follows the same habit. So on the start it says, "What are your healthy habits?" And then there's a different healthy habit list on each page. So then they can read, "I know, I can," and then they'll match: brush my teeth, wash my hands, wash my face, floss, shower, shampoo, put on deodorant, take medicine, sleep, exercise. So they're not direct matches, they are close though, so I like doing non-identical matching to kind of expand my kids that already are able to match to make it a little bit more difficult. Um, so again, this book I really like to kind of work on a science topic but still in the structure of an adapted book. So again, this was a product preview of Healthy Habits, an adapted book about health and hygiene by theautismhelper.com.
