Hi, this is Sasha from TheAutismHelper.com, and this is a product preview of, of my Social Story Packet for Children with Autism Hygiene Set. Hygiene is something really important that we need to be teaching our kids about even at a young age, because it might take a few years to really learn. And this is something that is such a critical life skill that our kids really need to be able to learn to do this as independently as possible, all different kinds of hygiene tasks. So this set contains 4 different social stories and 2 different visual directions. The social stories are taking a shower, taking medicine every day, taking medicine when sick, and washing your hands. So in addition to these 4 social stories, which could be read on a daily basis or as needed, there are 2 different visual step— visual, um, following directions. So one is for washing your hands. I actually have this posted in the bathroom of my school. I think even the gen ed kids need to benefit from this. Having the visuals really helps our kids be able to follow through each step step, and even kids that are non-readers can really respond to doing things in the right direction. The next one is taking a shower, and I've laminated this for a lot of parents of students in my class, and they post it in their shower because it's laminated, it's fine. And then kids that are older, that it's less appropriate for a parent to be helping them shower, they can do it by themselves, and the parents can remind them before they start to follow these directions and go through. So this is a great thing that you can be sending home with your kids or offering to your parents as an extra support. So this packet includes the 4 social stories and the 2 visual directions, which are so, so helpful.
