Hi, this is Sasha from TheAutismHelper.com, and this is a product preview of Move It or Lose It: Act It Out. So this game is all focused around kind of imagination, movements, and activities. This has been really helpful for my students with autism to pretend different— being different animals or doing different actions, things like that, to kind of take them out of that everything has to be so structured and concrete and really expanding those cognitive skills and imagination skills on practicing imagination. but since this is a very difficult skill, I found it's very helpful to use visuals, which is why I made these. There are 48 different visuals included in this set. Here's a little description of how I use them, and I also— for these, they're all circle cards, so I laminate these and paste them on a popsicle stick. And you can actually, if you cut them out in sets of 2, you can fit 6 on one laminating sheet, so it was pretty quick for me to laminate. Since these are very abstract, I included detailed descriptions of what I want the students to do because you might not know what I mean when I have a picture of someone stirring. I'm also planning on making a video of me doing these, which might be really embarrassing for me, but we'll see how that goes. So check out— check— be on the lookout for that too, because I'll do a video of exactly what these look like, because some of them are really fun, and I want to make sure that you kind of understand what I mean by the images, because I know that the images are a little bit abstract, but that's the point. We don't want the kids to be exactly mimicking what the picture does, but it gives a cue for them what— for what they should do. So here are the 3 different cheat sheets, and I actually laminated these 2 back to back and have this one separate, and I just put— laminated them and put them in a binder ring. So in case I forget what they are, I have this stashed away somewhere. So I'll go through briefly. There's 48 different visual cues, um, and all on different kind of silly things to do. So obviously this one's like being a monster, pretending to crunch something loudly, pretending to shovel, pretending to stir something. All different imagination type things like moving arms like you're swimming, brushing your teeth, doing the Itsy Bitsy Spider, hopping around really fast. So kind of, I'll just briefly go through these, you know, being Santa, doing the Mr. Roboto dance. Like some of these my kids think are super, super funny. Pause and Rewind is one of their favorite. You pretend to have a remote and click it and then kind of go, "Jubluup," and kind of move your body backwards like you're on the TV being rewound. They think that's really funny. Walking Like a Soldier, Crying Like a Baby they also really like. The descriptions have explanation of what each of these are for the ones that might be a little bit unclear. My kids really, really love these. They do this independently now. They can take turns. Each kid has a turn to come up and pick a different card and they show everyone and then everyone does that movement together. So that's really fun. This has been so great for indoor recess because I've been going crazy having them in there with nothing to do. I know they they're getting antsy, I'm getting antsy, so this is great to get them up and moving but still in a structured way.
