In this product preview, Sasha from TheAutismHelper.com introduces the Parts of Speech Literacy Centers, an educational resource designed for students who have progressed beyond basic sentence work and need focused practice on nouns, verbs, and adjectives. The set includes four distinct center types, each offered in ten variations, totaling 40 centers. Every center comes with a coordinating worksheet that can serve both as an assessment tool and an extension activity after direct instruction. The centers cover a range of activities: sorting nouns, verbs, and adjectives; distinguishing a specific part of speech from non‑examples; matching words to sentences; word‑to‑sentence sorts; and identifying the part of speech of underlined words in sentences. Materials are laminated and organized in labeled baggies for easy classroom use. Sasha emphasizes how the worksheets enable teachers to monitor student accuracy, provide independent practice, and ensure mastery of parts‑of‑speech identification.

Hi, this is Sasha from TheAutismHelper.com, and this is a product preview of my Parts of Speech Literacy Centers. So I made these along the same lines of my Sentence Centers and kind of for my kids that are moving beyond those and to work on parts of speech, specifically nouns, verbs, and adjectives. So included in this set are 4 different centers and 10 versions of each one, so you're getting 40 centers altogether. So to get started, each center comes with a worksheet that coordinates, so the students— this is a nice way to do some type of assessment. If they're doing the center on their own, you can check in to make sure they're doing it on their— correctly. I also like to use this worksheet as an extension activity. If I do this center with a child in direct instruction, they can complete the worksheet on their own after. So each set comes with a worksheet. So the first centers are noun, verb, and adjective sorts. So you can laminate this whole page, cut out the pieces, and then the label right here on each page is for the baggie. So this is a nice way to keep everything organized. So the student will just take all the pieces out and sort all the nouns under the noun column, verbs under the verb, and adjectives under the adjective. So it's a great way to really focus on discriminating between these types of words. So there's 10 different centers of that. The next one is Noun vs. Not a Noun. So this is again working on discrimination, but just comparing and identifying exactly one part of speech at a time. So again, there's a worksheet to go with it, and there's 3 different noun versions. Verb ones, and adjectives. So to work on each skill in isolation and not comparing between the 3, but just to compare between what's an adjective and what's not an adjective. Um, the next center is matching a noun to a sentence. So this is for each part of speech. There's ones for nouns, verbs, and adjectives. Again, here's the worksheet. Um, so there are going to be 7 different sentences with a blank and match to the correct noun. So you want to kind of make sure students are comprehending and knowing where the noun placement is in the sentence. So there's some noun ones, the same version with verbs, and the same sort with adjectives. Next are just word-to-sentence sorts, so they're going to be a variety of nouns, verbs, and adjectives in one. Next is match the word to the part of speech. So there are 7 different sentence— 8 different sentences with a word underlined, and they're gonna have to match to noun, verb, or adjective identifying what this word is. So we label these two together because yummy is an adjective and farm is a noun. And I really tried to make sure with these ones that not all of the verbs were in the middle of the sentence. Like for example, this verb is at the end. So students aren't just assuming, "Oh, if it's at the end of the sentence, it's a noun." They're really going to have to attend to these sentences and identify the parts of speech correctly. So there's all of the 10 different sorts for that. Again, you're getting a lot with this packet. There's 40 different sen identifying parts of speech in a variety of ways. You're going to ensure that your students really have this skill mastered.
