Sasha presents file folder activities featuring vehicles for early learners and special needs students. Each folder targets skills like sorting, matching, ordering by size, and building patterns from AB to ABCD sequences. Teachers can use them for guided practice or independent work while assessing where students need support.
Hi, this is Sasha from theautismhelper.com, and this is a product preview of my vehicle file folder activities to match, sort, count, and more.
This is great for kids within early childhood and kids with special needs. I love file folder activities because they're space efficient. It's one little file folder and it's one whole activity, and it's all compact and ready to go. You can target a lot of different types of skills with these activities. I love to also use themes that are engaging to students. Kids like trucks and cars and buses. They don't want to just always be matching shapes or boring animals that maybe they're not interested in. So having— if you have any kiddos that are into trucks and cars and things like that, this is a great product for them. My guys who are car guys are loving these. They really think it's fun. It's not even work. Um, so here's an instruction page on how to set these up. Um, there's a main title, a tab title, and baggie title, as you see right here, included with each file folder. I like to make sure it's really organized because I want them easy to find. They're all labeled with a different picture and they're all labeled by the name, so you'll be able to put it together easily and find all the pieces right away. So let's go through the different options real quick. First is sorting big and little vehicles, so matching all the big pieces and the little pieces. Next is just direct matching vehicles, so matching the exact piece to the exact piece. Here's a different matching version with the pictures in boxes.
Ordering from big to small, so they're having 4 opportunities to do that, which I love because sometimes when a file folder just works on one skill really quickly, it's hard to assess if I have to show them the first time if they really got it. So this is a great one to practice the first one together and then give them the chance to do the other 3 on their own. Um, here's an easy pattern, so just A, B, A, B. Again, 2 opportunities to practice the skill. Middle pattern, A, B, C. Here we go. And then a hard pattern: ABCD, ABCD.
So this one's tricky, they really have to attend. Um, next is matching numbers 1 through 10, the number to the word. So number 1 to the word number 1. And down here is matching 11 through 10, 11 through 20, or 11 through 20, I'm sorry, 11 through 20 digits to the word. And then counting vehicles. This is a great one for your guys who are nonverbal. Um, you can really assess their counting skills by seeing if they're able to accurately match the numbered piece to the file folder activity. So this goes 1 through 8 on counting the cars, ordering the alphabet, a gr— again, a great one for you guys who are nonverbal. And this is a tricky skill, but it's one that a lot of my kids can actually do, so it's kind of cool to watch them develop in advance. And then matching lowercase to uppercase, a great place to go next once you've introduced letters and initial sounds and things like that. So here's all the different file folder activities, all including the label and instructions for setup. Again, this was a product preview of Vehicle File Folders by TheAutismHelper.com.
