Sasha from TheAutismHelper.com shows how to make a tactile adapted book that teaches kids to identify what an item is, how many there are, and what color it is. The book has five double-sided pages with Velcro-attached pictures that learners match to the correct quantity and color. It's designed for lower-functioning students to practice basic math and categorization hands-on.

Hi, this is Sasha from TheAutismHelper.com, and this is a product preview of What, How Many, What Color adapted book. So this book is really great to work on identifying different attributes for a group of items. So I go through on how to set the book up, because at first it seems a little complicated, but it's really just so you can view all of the pictures while you're going through the book. So I go through how to set it up, which to laminate, and this is basically what the book looks like. So you'll bind all the pages together on the left and then you have one extra page that you'll bind to the back cover on the right, and this is so you can see all the pictures as you go through. So basically what the book will be is you will match the item, the color, and the number, the quantity, onto the pictures for each set. Um, so here's the COVID of the book, and there are 5 different pages with 2 on each, so 10 times that you'll be answering the questions of what, how many, and what color for each group of items. So here are the different pages in here, and then here are the pictures. So these you would laminate and cut out and put soft Velcro on the back, and then you'll be putting hard Velcro on each of these spots on each page to match it. This has been really great for some of my lower functioning students to work on math skills in a pretty concrete way that's easy for them to understand.
