Product Preview - What's Bugging You? Preposition Edition

Sasha from TheAutismHelper.com previews a laminated interactive book that teaches prepositions and animal words to lower-verbal children using bug stickers and Velcro. Kids place bugs in different positions (above, below, next to) on two pages per preposition, combining spatial reasoning with color identification through repetitive prompting.

Hi, this is Sasha from TheAutismHelper.com, and this is a product preview of What's Bugging You? Preposition Edition. So if you've used any of my other two What's Bugging You? books, this runs in the same format, just with prepositions and animal vocabulary. So it's the same typical format of "What's bugging you?" "Oh no, a red bug!" So I love this repetition because it really gets my kids that are lower verbally to talk on their own. A lot of my kids can imitate these phrases really well, and the repetition, they just really get used to saying it so they can say it independently, which is pretty awesome. So this version is to work on prepositions. So, "Oh no, a red bug on the bird." So in my directions for setup, I recommend putting Velcro in a few different spots, 'cause we don't want kids to just respond to where the Velcro is and just match the bug picture wherever it is on the page. We want them to really be responding to this preposition. So, "Oh no, a blue bug above the owl." I would put probably a piece of Velcro above, below, and next to, so they really need to respond to the above picture and the above preposition and follow it the correct way. So there are all the different animal vocabularies: above, below, next to, in front of, on, and then they kind of repeat. There's 2 of each preposition, 2 different pages, all with animals. And then there are the bug pictures. So you'll want to laminate these and put hard Velcro— soft Velcro on the back and then the hard Velcro on the pages so they'll match. They'll have to identify the color. A yellow bug is next to the giraffe, so it's kind of 2 steps in 1— identifying the correct color and also the correct preposition on where to place the animal on— the bug on the animal page. And then this page has 9 different boxes, and you'll want to laminate this and put hard Velcro in each box. And this is where you will store the bug pieces, and you'll bind this page on the right side of the last page so that you'll have it next to each piece as you go. If this is confusing at all, check out my video tutorial for the first Bugging You book, and it shows the easy setup directions. And I love setting up books this way because it stores super nicely. Um, yep, so this was a product preview of What's Bugging You? Preposition Edition by TheAutismHelper.com.
