Angela Kulcsar presents an adapted book that teaches preschoolers counting and fine-motor skills through a grill theme. Kids count out the exact number of Velcro food pieces each page asks for, like "3 burgers on the grill," rather than just matching quantities. The setup forces real counting practice while building vocabulary.

I'm Angela Kulcsar from theautismhelper.com, and this is a product preview of my adapted book, What's on the Grill, Dad? So this is a great one to work on counting skills. This is awesome for preschool or early childhood because it's such a fun theme. So directions for setup are included. The setup is a little bit different, so you'll see here from these pictures all of the food pieces are going to go on the bottom, and there's going to be more than the correct amount because we don't want our kids to be prompted by just putting only 3 on. We want them to actually count 3, which is really key. So that will go on the bottom, and then the students will be putting the designated food items on the grill based on the clue on each page. So each page follows the familiar pattern, "What's on the grill, Dad?" and "Yum! 3 burgers on the grill!" So you'll just put 1 long piece of Velcro here and load up the burgers. So each page has a different amount of food items, and the food items again will be stored right on the bottom. So this is great also to work on fine motor skills with some of our young little guys because the pieces are a little bit smaller. They'll have to really, you know, attend to that 1-to-1 correspondence in grabbing each piece and putting it on the Velcro. So all the different pieces included and the final page. So here's all the different food options, so this is great even to work on food vocabulary as well. So again, this was a product preview of What's on the Grill, Dad? by theautismhelper.com.
