Sasha from theautismhelper.com shows an adapted book that teaches autistic kids where to go in the community. Students read hints like "My mom is coming home from an airplane. Where should you go?" and match the right location picture using Velcro pieces stored in a bag attached to the book.

Hi, this is Sasha from theautismhelper.com, and this is a product preview for my adapted book, "Where Should You Go? An Adapted Book for Children with Autism." This is one of my favorite adapted books because it's perfect for late elementary and high school age because it's really focusing on those life skills of applying location with common functions and things you do there. So this is the COVID and there are a bunch of different pages. You can either laminate these and bind them with a book binder or you put them in top-loading pages. I actually did those for the book recently because I was low on laminating, and it worked out really well. Then you can keep it in a binder. What you'll want to do is you'll want to laminate and cut out all of these pieces. I like to keep these in a baggie Velcroed to the back of the book so I always have the pictures near the book. These are all the pictures that the students will be matching. You'll be putting soft Velcro on the back of these pages and then hard Velcro in each box. Then this book, there's a hint like My mom is coming home from a trip and on an airplane. You are going to pick her up. Where should you go? So the student will have to pick what location you would go for each hint. So it's great on really discriminating between the different areas of the community that you go and why you're going there. So these are all the different pages. It's really great to work on those WH questions, which can be so challenging for our students. This was a product preview of Where Should You Go?
