In this short video, the presenter walks viewers through the Level 1 Reading Comprehension curriculum package and explains how to access it. Users can either open the full, combined resource or view the materials organized by section (anchor charts, data sheets, rubrics, student workbook) for easier printing. The curriculum map and preview images are shown to illustrate the complete contents, which are designed to align with state standards and IEP goals. Because it is Level 1, the focus is on foundational skills—listening comprehension, letter‑sound identification, and systematic phonics instruction. The presenter notes that the materials are built on research about the most effective phonics sequences, and references are provided. The curriculum consists of eight 20‑page units plus a ninth review unit; each unit includes two anchor charts, a pre‑test, post‑test, rubric, and activity pages. Sample tasks demonstrate how students answer questions receptively (pointing) or expressively (verbal response), with activities that can be adapted for verbal or non‑verbal learners and that increase in difficulty (e.g., matching sentences, higher‑order letter‑sound challenges). A linked YouTube tutorial offers a deeper walkthrough of using the data sheets and embedded data.

—helper, and this is a quick preview of Reading Comprehension Level 1. So when you get this resource, you'll have two options of how you open it. Either the complete resources, which is what I previously did, or you can go into this organized by section. So you'll have the anchor charts, the data sheets, rubrics, and the student workbook all separate. So it'll make printing hopefully a lot easier for you. But I'm gonna go in the complete resource here. So the curriculum map, you can download and view via the preview or on the preview images. You can see everything that's included. This makes it really easy to align to standards, to align to IEP goals. This resource, obviously being Level 1, is going to focus on the foundations, so a lot of listening comprehension and really building a difficulty on identifying the letter sounds. So I link a YouTube video right here that shows you exactly how to use these resources. There's pretty thorough descriptions of how to use the data sheets because there's some embedded data that's a little bit different than the other curriculum. Here's some references and some of the research that I utilized to develop this resource. I spent a lot of time researching the best ways to teach phonics, the best order to teach skills because I wanted it to be the best it could be. So here's all the skills included, and I will peek into some of the resources for you here. So there are 2 anchor charts for each unit. Here are the concepts and then the book skill, um, pre-test, post-test, rubric, and then the activity pages. So 8 units, each with 20 pages each, and then the 9th review unit. A lot of listening comprehension. And so here, which the video will explain as well, You will read this part and students will find the answer. So the recipe calls for 2 eggs. What did the recipe call for? And the student can receptively point to identify the answer or expressively say the answer. So we're really, really building up reading comprehension. So I'll scroll through some of the harder ones. We look at matching sentences. We're going to really build in difficulty of letter sounds. Um, again, this can be done with students who are verbal or nonverbal and increasing in difficulty. So this is the quick preview here of Level 1 reading
