Cut a yellow circle, place it on black paper, trace it with chalk, and brush the chalk away to create an eclipse shape. A two-minute craft using construction paper that shows how the moon blocks the sun.
Chapters
Here's a fun, easy way to celebrate the solar eclipse. All you need are 2 sheets of construction paper, one black and one yellow. Cut out a circle and have it ready for your students, or have them cut it. Lay it on the black paper and then grab some chalk. Trace an outline around the circle, not moving the circle as you go. You want to get all the chalk on the black if you can. Go all the way around, really outlining that circle. Don't let that circle move. Hold it nice and tight. When you're done, leave the circle there. Take your finger and brush the chalk away from the circle. This will give you a nice-looking eclipse when you're all done. When you finish, take the circle off and voilà, an eclipse! When you're done, it should look like this.
