Use visual timers to warn kids before transitions. A two-minute countdown before switching activities or giving up a preferred item makes the change predictable and reduces resistance.

This guy is great to show when something is coming, like a change is coming, whether it's something good or bad. Like, we're waiting to go to art class, so you can put kind of when it's not time yet, and then, okay, it's almost time when there's maybe 2 minutes left, and then it's ready to go. This would also be great for transitioning away from preferred items. So when like the iPad, like, it's ready to go, it's time to go do our next centers. So showing when I have to give the iPad back would be a great use for this too.
