Give paraprofessionals chances to lead specific activities like stations or transitions while you keep overall control. Pick the right moments, be clear about who's in charge, and match leadership roles to who actually wants them.

Great question. If you have paras that love to take charge, my advice is to let them. Give them opportunities to take charge and be the leader. Obviously that is something they enjoy, that they like doing, so let them do that. But find the times that it's appropriate. There are times where you as the teacher have to be the leader, but give them times where they can run a station, they can run the group, they can be the leader of the transition. And very clearly assign who's in charge when so they have those opportunities.
