Video Product Preview: Basic Skills Vocabulary Unit

Olivia previews the Basic Skills Vocabulary Unit, which covers shapes, numbers 1-12, uppercase and lowercase letters, and colors. Hi, this is Olivia from TheAutismHelper.com, and I'm about to do a video product preview for our Basic Skills Vocabulary Unit. So this unit is just like the format of our other units, such as our Animal, School, Fall, Household, Community, and in the past, our Spring and Winter units as well. So it starts off with the basic— let's see, this is explaining how everything is set up. Um, and here we start off with our shapes as our first basic skill. And it has our vocabulary data sheet, it's just the same as our other ones. It's really awesome because it has a visual here on the side. And also you can choose to be looking for receptive language data or expressive language data. So here we first go into matching, which is matching the picture-word to the picture and word. And then later it goes into the word and picture itself. Stepping up a level. And here is spelling the words, or the shapes themselves, and here are spelling pieces. Here is writing the word, and now tracing. Next comes numbers, 1 through 12 we used here. So here's our vocabulary data sheet again, very basic and easy to use. Matching the numbers to themselves, Matching, then we did the number to the quantity that that number is. So here we would have— we would match 12 to our 12 dots over here. Now writing the numbers here, since it's just a number, a digit themselves, we decided to have it where the student has to write the number 3 times. So really to get that repetitive motion going. Here is tracing them. You have to trace them 4 times each. So it's really great to keep the consistency of each vocabulary unit going. Here we're doing the number quantity then, so we have the different variety of dots. Here's our data sheet, and now matching the quantity that also has here the word written out, and then just matching that directly to that. And here is the word matching to the quantity. So now we're spelling out the word themselves, so we'd write out "one" here, and then later we have our pieces to match with them. Here we're writing out the words again, um, and now tracing. And here we do uppercase letters, um, and later we'll do— we have a lowercase section as well. So here's our uppercase letter data sheet, again with the receptive language and expressive language. Here we have 2 data sheets just to— so we can fill in the whole alphabet. Here we're matching the uppercase to the uppercase, and then we'll do actually uppercase to lowercase as well. And here we're writing again the uppercase letters 3 times each, and then we will be tracing them 4 times each as well. Then we move on to the lowercase letters. So here we have our data sheet again, receptive, expressive. There's two data sheets for all the letters, matching just the lowercase to the lowercase. And just like before, we're gonna be matching the lowercase to now the uppercase letters. We'll be writing them 3 times each, and then we'll be tracing them next 4 times each. And we're gonna— I think this is our last one with colors. So our data sheet is really good. It's great to have the visual here again to see the color itself. So we have red, blue, yellow, green, gray, orange, purple, black, white, pink, turquoise, and brown. So we'll be matching just the word with the color to the word with the color again, and now here we'll be doing the word to the color. We'll be writing out the colors— spelling them, I mean, sorry. Here are our spelling pieces. Here we'll be doing the writing. And here we'll be tracing. And this was our video product preview for the Basic Skills Vocabulary Unit by TheAutismHelper.com. Thank you!
