Video Product Preview: School Vocabulary Unit

Olivia from TheAutismHelper.com walks through the School Vocabulary Unit, which covers school supplies, classes, verbs, places, and people. Each category uses the same worksheet format: a data sheet for tracking responses, matching, spelling, writing, and tracing activities. The consistent layout helps students focus on vocabulary instead of learning new formats.

Hi, this is Olivia from theautismhelper.com. I'm here to give you a video product preview of our School Vocabulary Unit. This unit is just set up the same as all of our other units, including our Basic Skills, Animal, Fall Unit, Household, Community, Spring, and Winter units as well. Um, so here, um, is the basic understanding of what the product is. It explains to you the— how the vocabulary unit, uh, vocabulary pages, data sheets, spelling worksheets, writing worksheets, and tracing worksheets all work. And how they should be set up. Here we have our first category of words or vocabulary is the school supplies. So here's our data sheet. This is a really great data sheet to work with because it has here on this side has our visuals and it has receptive language data or expressive language data. So you can decide if you want the student to be pointing to the word or if you want the student to be saying the word. Um, so then also then here's where you would put the student's name, the date taken, and here is where you tally up the total number of trials for each word. Um, so going down we have our matching pieces. So this is where you just match— here's the word to the picture. Um, and here's spelling. We have spelling pieces after all of these worksheets here. So this is where you would have the students fill in to spell. Here's writing the words, and next comes tracing. Here we have our classes. This is great to understand the subjects. We have reading, math, social studies, science, and then down here computer, music, gym, and art. It's a really good way to get these words kind of circulating more. So here's our data worksheet with receptive and expressive again, the visuals on the side. Here's matching, and then we have our spelling the words and our spelling pieces. We have the writing worksheets and now our tracing worksheets. Here we have school verbs, so these are also great. These are things that always happen during school, so it's great to have in a worksheet form. Here we have our data sheet. Our matching, matching again, our spelling the words, our spelling pieces, writing the words, tracing the words. And now down to school places. So this is also great because these are the places that students go during the day. Here we have our data worksheet— er, sorry, our data sheet with receptive and expressive again, our visuals here on the side, and down to matching. It's really great to keep these consistent with these vocabulary units so the students are more focusing on the content rather than the format of how each worksheet works. Here's our spelling, our spelling pieces, and now writing, and now down to our tracing again. And here are school people, so this is again really great to get a unit on because these are the people that the students interact with throughout the day: the nurse, teacher, custodian, principal, librarian, speech therapist, bus driver, and secretary. It's really good to get a unit on this. So here's our data sheet again with our visuals, expressive or receptive and expressive. Here's our matching the people, matching the words to the people, spelling them. Here are spelling pieces, writing the words, and tracing again. So overall, this was our video product preview for our School Vocabulary Unit by TheAutismHelper.com. Thanks for watching!
