Video Tutorial - Kids Like to Play! Adapted Book!

Sasha from theautismhelper.com shows how to make the "Kids Like to Play" adapted book, where children match boxed words in sentences like "Boy plays with Legos" to corresponding pictures. The book is bound on both sides with activity pages on front and a pull-out sheet of all picture options on back, keeping materials compact and together.

Hi, this is Sasha from theautismhelper.com, and this is a video tutorial of my Kids Like to Playbook. So just to note before we start that the pictures are slightly different than the one in my— in this book versus the one in my Teachers Pay Teachers store because I had to find stock images that were free for commercial use. So it's the same concept, but the pictures are just slightly different. So this is the same as the Bugging Book where I have it bound on both sides. So all the pages are bound on this side, and then on the back On this other side, there's one third page, so you can pull it out to the side and have all the picture options available as you go through the pages. So you'll just want to bind one extra sheet with the, the extra sheet with the plain boxes to the last page. So then when you go through the book, the pictures are available right next to it. You don't need to have any extra choice board or anything. It's just built in and it stores really nicely this way. So the concept of this book is to kind of identify the concepts it to the photo. So this one says, "Boy plays with Legos," and I like separating the different words with the boxes so kids that are lower verbally can really focus on "boy plays with Legos." And then you're gonna have to go ahead and find the Lego picture. So this is quite like a bit of a higher skill, and it's a different way to work on matching, um, and in a kind of a higher level way. So you'll match the Lego picture there, and like I said, the pictures are slightly different in my Teachers Pay Teachers store. So, "Girl plays with play kitchen," and then you wanna look for the play kitchen picture and match that. So kind of go through for each one. My kids really like this, and I think it's great for those kids that are really good at matching, but you want to do something a little bit harder and a little bit different, and for kids that are good at repeating back words. So, "Boy plays with fire hat." You can have them copy you. "Boy, boy plays, plays with fire hat." and then finding the picture of the boy with the fire hat and matching it right on there. Um, so that's it! All the pictures store really nicely in the back, so you'll just fold this page in and put it in, and it all stores like one book, which is really great. There's less likelihood of losing pictures. Um, yep, this was a video tutorial of My Kids Like to Play Book by theautismhelper.com.
