ACT and Grow Rich - Part 6 of 13 - Organized Planning

In this episode of "Wednesday's Weekly Words of Wisdom," Paul H. Flowers Jr. breaks down Step 6 – Organized Planning – from Napoleon Hill’s Think and Grow Rich. He explains that desire must be backed by a concrete, actionable plan and that such a plan is most effective when it involves a mastermind group of mutually beneficial partners who meet regularly and maintain harmony. Flowers stresses the need for immediate execution, continual review, and iterative refinement, noting that no plan is truly faultless and that setbacks are expected. He illustrates intelligent planning with the analogy of building a house from the foundation up, and he links the concept to leadership, followers, and real‑world examples such as sports teams and Steve Jobs/Apple. The episode concludes by summarizing the steps for creating a solid foundation, evaluating resources and relationships, and previewing the next step – Decision.

Good evening, Paul H. Flowers Jr. here with Wednesday's Weekly Words of Wisdom. This week we are at Act and Grow Rich, Part 6 of 13. That's again our take on Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill. The 6th step towards riches this week, the 6th step is actually organized planning. So we've previously We've previously taken a look at desire, which was the initial step. Then we looked at faith, right, which was kind of the building block to causing that desire to take action. There was autosuggestion, which was how you actually create, build, and strengthen the faith. Uh, next up there's specialized knowledge. So you take what you do well and start to add to it, compound on it, and use that as your service or basis for gaining riches or wealth. Next up there was imagination. Because there's not always a set out way to do a thing, but there is, with imagination, a tool or the building blocks in order to find a way, right? Generate your own how. Now this week we're taking a look at organized planning. Organized planning is one of the most crucial steps as we kind of take a little look at what it is to plan something out. It's essentially taking a look at that very first step, which was desire, And the fourth part of that 6-step process that was given in Desire says that you have to have a plan in place to accumulate riches. Again, we use riches just as the basis of what we're discussing, but you can take it and apply it to just about anything. So you have to have a plan. Planning is an absolute must. This particular week, this chapter outlines a couple of steps to take that plan and actually put it into some sort of action. One of the first things you want to do is align yourself with others. You want to have people in your corner that are A) for you and B) have some of the pieces that you might not have. Because again, nothing works without people. So if you don't like people, this may not work for you, right? This may not be the video series for you, this may not be the book for you. You just want to do whatever it is that you need to do if you don't like people, because you're absolutely going to, again, number 1, have to align yourself with people. Next up, when you align yourself with these people, it has to be a mutually beneficial relationship. So you, you have to have something that you can actually contribute to them, to their lifestyle, whether it be a partnership and whatever this future endeavor is, or if you have some sort of maybe specialized knowledge that you're able to actually provide for them to be a part of this group, right? A part of this group of people that are going to help you to go forward and moving in the direction of your goals and desires. Next, you want to actually set the time to meet with this group of people. Now, ideally, 1 to 2 times per week. The fact that we have technology around— we've got phones, we've got internet, and we've got all sorts of ways in order to make these meetings happen, whether it be in person or through some sort of digital means. So not being able to meet with a person is not really an excuse, right? You can always get a chance to talk with somebody within your group that's gonna help you move this forward. Next up, lastly I should say, is you wanna maintain harmony. Now whether this mastermind group that you're starting out with is the smallest one, the most nuclear one in your home, whether it's friends that are helping you on the project, whether it's business associates from around the country, you wanna make sure that there is a harmony that operates within you all so that you can move again forward in the best direction possible. Because again, without people Nothing works, right? People make things work. People have built every building, collaborated to put every piece of technology in place, right? Everything has come as a result of people working together. So that last piece is really crucial in terms of maintaining a harmonious environment between everyone that you're working with. Now, when it comes to these plans, right, organized planning, two other things you want to keep in mind is that ideally when you start off They say that, well, I should say the author says that they should be faultless plans. Now, we later discuss that these plans aren't necessarily faultless, but what they mean by that is to simply have a plan in place that you can act on, right? Something that has some sort of motion in place with some logical or feasible steps that you can take to move you in the direction of your goal and dream. Next up, the second part of this is that you have to have other minds involved. Right, so with those two things, you wanna keep those things in mind as you put this plan in place to go forward. Now with the faultless plans, I just wanna hit on that just another couple moments. Excuse me. When a plan is put in place, it's important that you act on it immediately, right? Whether it's the big step, small step, some sort of step you wanna take moving forward on this plan. Otherwise, that thing called procrastination will absolutely creep up. It'll creep up, the shoulda, coulda, wouldas will happen on the backside of it, but in the middle you'll start to allow then everything to keep you from moving forward on this plan or goal. So you have to have a plan in place, whatever it is, execute on the plan. Once you execute on the plan, then you go back, look at it, see what worked and what didn't work. For those things that did work, again, that are in alignment with moving you forward towards the goal, you keep doing those things. The things that didn't work, You look at them and you ask yourself, well, why did it go wrong? What could have been done differently? And then you alter the plans slightly in the ways that are gonna basically fine-tune it to more of a way that's in line with where you wanna go. Then you repeat the process, right? So the plan that's supposedly flawless, right, it's going to have things that are gonna happen. There are things in your plan that aren't going to work out. If you didn't think that was gonna happen, let me be the first to tell you, something in your plan is not going to work exactly the way that you want it to. And that's okay, right? That's a whole part of this process. That's another reason why it's important to have people around you that are aligned with you, that have the same common interest that you have, so that if the things that fail cause you to attempt to want to stop, you've got other people that say, hey, you know what, this is how we can fix this, let's keep going forward. Again, there's not a company that I know of, or you, right, that has ever been built by a single person. Jeff Bezos did not make Amazon by himself. It's impossible for him to run it by itself. There is not a team that has ever won a championship by themselves. Many of you all just watched the, the Super Bowl this past weekend, and it wasn't just a quarterback that threw a ball, ran, caught the ball, and scored the touchdown. It was the work of the entire team that had a common goal in place, which was to win that championship and they put all their efforts in at the point in which they were up, they were up, and the point in which they were down, they were down, and they had to do what? Look at the plan that they had, see how they executed, look at what worked and what didn't work, revise that plan, and then go back and repeat the process. So you can take this and apply it across many spectrums. Again, sports is just one of the easiest ones that most people can essentially relate to from having been exposed to it throughout their lives. So this just happened, right? Now, with this organized planning, you do want to plan intelligently. And what I mean by intelligently is saying that I want to build something, right? And with this idea that I have to build something, there's gonna be a certain set of instructions that make pla— that are in place that makes sense. In other words, example being, I want to build a house. Now How many homes do you know that are built from the roof down? Not many. Now, architecturally speaking, can you draw out a home from the roof down? Absolutely. But when you actually start the building, when you actually put the plan in place, when you actually start to take the actions, you have to start on that foundational level, right? In the example of building a home. So you want to start from the bottom to the top. That's the intelligent planning, right? So I want to say, this is why the foundation needs to be built, and this is what's going to go on top of it. Does this foundation support what I'm getting ready to put on top of it? Does your foundation support what you're getting ready to endeavor upon? Whatever your plan for success is in life, are you fundamentally sound and built for the thing that you want to do? Do you have the knowledge in your background? Do you have the personality to succeed in the field that you're in? Do you have the resources to succeed in the field that you're in? Do you know the people that are going to keep you moving forward in the field that you're in? Right? These are all a part of your own foundation. These are all a part of your own plan that must be in place in order for you to succeed to the level in which you want to succeed. Again, Rome wasn't built in a day, nor was any great person put where they are today through their own efforts alone. It's taken a group then, it's taken a group now, and it's gonna take a group tomorrow. Look at every person that's been in power, every single person has been in power, from the president of a local club to the president of the United States, right? They've all had groups of people around them that have allowed them to be essentially elevated and lifted up, which brings about the idea Leaders and Followers. Napoleon Hill in this book talks a great deal about leadership. Now, we're not going to go through every single aspect of leadership, but one of the most important things out of the 11 portions or 11 attributes of a leader that he mentioned was one of definite plans. If you ever plan on leading people, you have to have a plan in place, if that makes sense. Now, that's not to say that every leader has been a great leader that's had the most amazing plans in place, but they have had some sort of plan in place. Now, what about the followers? Followers are, one, okay with being followers for some time, but two, if they do plan on leading, they actually have to plan to lead. And guess what it takes to actually be a leader? You have to have followers. These are people that essentially pushed you up. Now that just draws back on the idea from a little bit earlier, a few minutes ago, where I mentioned that no person has been put where they are by themselves. No single person has led a team to victory. It's always been a team effort. No single person has ever built a company. It's always been a collective group of like-minded individuals that formed what's called a mastermind in order to get an idea out into the public, in order to get a thing created, in order to start something that was nothing and turn it into something, right? Getting that finished product. So, kind of wrapping up here, tapering off, when it comes to organized planning, again, the topic of this week, you want to keep a few things in mind. Do it intelligently. In other words, start with the foundation. You have to take a look at you. You have to evaluate yourself, your surroundings, the people that you keep around you, right? These are all really important things that we don't necessarily get a whole lot of schooling about, right? Learning— you do to a degree where you learn that, you know, you may not want to hang out with the class clown because they'll get you in trouble, right? Well, it was just as true then as it is today. If you want to hang out with, or if you want to be the successful person then do you wanna hang out with the negatives? Do you wanna hang out with the naysayers? Do you wanna hang out with the people that don't necessarily believe what you believe? And the answer to that should be a resounding no. So you wanna intelligently plan and take a look at your foundation of who you are and who's around you. What resources do you have? Is your plan relatively sound? And what action steps are you actually taking to bring this plan into fruition. Remember, this talk, the series of these talks, are Act and Grow Rich. The book is Think and Grow Rich, and thinking is great, but it's one thing to think about a thing, it's another to put that plan into action. There must be a plan, you must act on it. You do have to have a solid foundation, and these are gonna be the things that take these organized plans from just being on paper and actually being something that you'll hold in your hand. Think about anything that you've had. Again, technology-wise, we use a bunch of phones. I'd hold mine up, but I'm using it right now. Is that phone came about as a brainchild, right? I'm an Apple guy. Steve Jobs, he was the, the creator of these things, and he came up with this idea for a phone that was drastically different from other phones, revolutionized the smartphone industry, if you will. But it didn't exist at first. It became a plan once he had the spark within his imagination. He desired to do something different, right? He had the faith that he could. He knew that he was going to absolutely change the world with the types of technologies that he can put in place. He had specialized knowledge. Remember, he was a relatively smart guy, right? As well as the people around him who helped him, Steve Wozniak, right, who helped him to become as great as he was. Again, drawing back on that idea of people, he used his imagination and he came up with something. So he took this idea, it became a plan, it was put on paper, and it was pushed into action. And now look at us today, right? How many iPhones are out there? How many iPads are in circulation? How many regular Windows laptops, Dell, Mac, HP You know, whatever it is that you use, it all follows the same format. Someone had an idea, they had a desire to bring it into fruition, they had a support system, a cast of people around them that had like-minded ideas and were able to follow along with that person, that person, that single person who was leading the charge. But again, he had followers, he or she had followers, and they followed along and they all worked together in a spirit of harmony in order to produce the very things that are changing our lives today and will absolutely change our lives tomorrow. So in wrapping up, again, whatever it is that you're endeavoring upon, this is now week 6, so ideally you've got some sort of desire. And if you don't, perfectly fine, right? Everybody isn't looking to change the world or come up with that next great thing. But if you do have a desire, you have to feed that desire. You have to have that faith to start turning that desire into action again. Alongside that faith— to create that faith, I should say— you want to utilize the tool of autosuggestion, which is essentially talking to yourself, right? Repeating these things multiple times, which was talked about in the first week of desire, the 6th step actually. After having the plan, knowing how much you want to acquire, how you're gonna do it, by when you're gonna do it, having the plan in place, having it written down, you also repeat it twice a day. That's autosuggestion. Specialized knowledge, again, learning more about that craft that you wanted to endeavor upon, using your imagination to find answers and solutions to problems that may come up along the way. And actually now, looking at this 6th step, having this organized plan in place in order to take this desire to be great in whatever it is and go out and do something with it. So ladies and gentlemen, again, take a moment, evaluate yourself, your surroundings, decide, right? And actually, this is a taken a brief look into the 7th step, which is coming up next week. A really, really, really important week to take a look at. So set your clocks, set your reminders for next week, same time, same channel. We're gonna be taking a look at the 7th step towards riches, which is decision, which is going to be an amazing, amazing step after you've taken a look at the previous 6. So if you haven't, go back and look at the previous videos, take some time, watch this one And when it pops up on YouTube, like, subscribe, and share. Get ready for next week, which is again going to be decision and realizing the power that you have where within to decide on exactly where it is you want to go. Ladies and gentlemen, it's been a pleasure speaking with you this evening. Enjoy the rest of your week. Bye for now.
