Stop and take a look at your bathroom counter. It might look like your morning routine, maybe your evening routine as well. But to your biology, it's actually a chemical Trojan horse. Did you know that the average person applies over 100 unique chemicals to their body before they ever even leave the house for the day? So we kind of think of our body as this barrier. The skin is a barrier that keeps stuff out, but in reality, it's a highly efficient sponge. The things that we might put on ourself contain things like parabens and phthalates and forever chemicals that might be in your favorite lotion. And they're not just sitting on the surface, they're actually dissolving into the oils that enter your bloodstream. So you're literally absorbing your toxic load every single morning. And if you stop the invisible drainage on your vitality and learn how to protect your internal environment, I want to make sure that you're following along. That's what we're going to describe in this video. It's what we talk about all the time on this channel. So make sure to hit the like button or subscribe all the above. Leave a comment so we're going to dive into the data and make this practical so you can start making changes right now. You shouldn't have to be a toxicologist just to shop for personal care products. But in a world of greenwashing, you need some data driven defense to, to defend yourself from the world in these products. So the most powerful tool in your arsenal is this database called the EWG Skin Deep Database. It's a massive project where they rate over 100,000 products based on their actual ingredient safety. When you use the EWG Healthy Living app or Yucca, that's an app or Think Dirty, you can scan a barcode of the, you know, your favorite shampoo or something that you might be considering buying at the store right there. When you're in the aisle, just scan them. You're looking for a green rating. That's what you want. And when you see the high scores for things like developmental and reproductive toxicity, that means that the product is a direct threat to your endocrine system. This is the kind of thing that you need. You need these tools in your pocket because knowledge like this is your first line of defense. You want to make sure to scan it before you ever buy it. Standard natural brands often fail because they actually rely on this fragrance loophole. You might have heard it before on labels. You might see the word fragrance. What that means is it can hide hundreds of undisclosed compounds associated with headaches, with asthma and eczema. And the gold standard for you to focus on are products that matter the most, which are the leave on products. While the soaps and the shampoos, you know those could be rinsed off, it's things like lotions and sunscreen and makeup if you're using that are the ones that can lead to the highest chemical absorption in your skin. Again, we're all just a big sponge For a truly clean routine. You want to look for brands that prioritize this total transparency. One of the favorite brands that MD Lifespan recommends is Goop Beauty. They're a high performance skincare brand and makeup that does not have any of the toxic shortcuts that you might find elsewhere. Another one is Juice Beauty, which offers an organic clinical grade formulation. All these different products that actually work for you. So these products are not just alternatives. These are the ones that you want to consider using every single day or to replace what you might have. Because these are the actual precision tools for your health to keep you healthy and avoid all of these toxins that are pretty rampant in these beauty products. All right, so these next actionable tips are straight from MD Lifespan's Clean Beauty guide, which we've linked up right along with this. And it's totally free, so I recommend you go download that. So here are the three wins that you could do right now. The first one is to go fragrance free. What you want to do is switch away from anything that has the fragrance in there. Switch to fragrance free soap, shampoo and lotions. This single move eliminates a massive cocktail of hidden irritants. Another one is the post shave rule. What you want to do is avoid applying products like deodorant or lotion immediately after you shave shaving. What it's doing is actually creating these little micro tears in your skin that drastically increase how much your skin absorbs, which ultimately leads to into your bloodstream. The last one is to ditch any kind of waterproof makeup. These often contain a lot of the pfas or the forever chemicals that can accumulate in your body and in the environment around you. What you want to do is stick to the standard non waterproof versions for daily use. And to wrap it up here, Changing your soap is critical for prevention, but it doesn't really address the accumulated load that's already potentially in your body, in your tissues over decades. You know, microplastics, toxins and all these different things can lead to chronic inflammation and oxidative stress just kind of builds up. And at MD Lifespan, what they're doing is looking at this buildup and they're actually testing it. There's a specialized testing that helps identify what your toxic burden is right now. And if you truly want to flush this stuff out, they have a protocol called Plasma Exchange that can actually help reduce your toxic load really quickly. There's a lot more to learn on this channel if you follow along, but definitely make sure to download the guide, the Clean Beauty Guidebook. And that's totally free. We linked it up for you as well. There's a lot of brands in there that you could check out, DIY recipes. Make sure to go over to the EWG Skin Deep database. You might need to check. Definitely. I recommend checking all of your current cosmetics stash that you have and see what's getting flagged. You know, scan it with all the apps that we mentioned. We will link up all the different things in the description below and make sure to follow along with this channel. Like subscribe. We have a lot more coming at you. We'll see you in the next one.
