Peter Lohmann credits his confidence to his parents exposing him to diverse experiences: Boy Scouts, 4-H, farm work, sports, and engineering projects. This broad foundation made new situations feel familiar rather than scary, building comfort across different challenges.

Couple things I think in my specific situation. One, I was born fairly confident for whatever reason. I think it was a little bit in my genes. My parents are both that way. My mom especially. Also, my parents did a really great job cultivating that confidence by exposing me to a whole bunch of different types of things. They made me do Boy Scouts. They made me do 4-H. They made me go on trips. They made me take business calls on the home phone for my mom's horse business. They made me learn how to do a billion different things around the farm. They made me do all kinds of different sports and they pushed me to do engineering. And so like, Their cultivation of a broad range of skill sets and a broad range of activities and being comfortable with all kinds of different people and like doing different things has made it so I'm rarely in a situation where I feel very uncomfortable because I'm just like, oh yeah, it's just another one of those. It's just like that other thing I did, except it's a little different this time.
