Peter Lohmann ran NARPM Nationals and is done. He says starting and running a property-management conference is extremely difficult, financially unrewarding, and a nightmare. He won't do it again, though he still enjoys attending and speaking at them.
If you want to go run and start a property management conference, go with God. I mean, truly, please try it. It's not easy. It's not easy to make money. It's honestly, frankly, a nightmare. I've sworn off ever, ever trying to run a property management conference.
I will leave it to others.
I will show up, I will speak. It's great, it's fun. I love every moment of being at them. I have no desire to run one. It looks like a nightmare.
I don't understand how people can just think that it's so easy because it's not. I can tell you we've got dedicated staff. We do. And we have lots of years of experience of training meaning of things. So it's, it's different. It's hard. And it's hard to keep the interest. You know, things change so rapidly. Now with NARPM, it's, you know, the members pick their topics. So we're involved in the backend facility, all of that. And but when it comes to the programming, because it's your industry, the members are the ones that pick the topics and pick the sessions.
