Keyrenter looks for four things in franchise owners: humility, willingness to learn, emotional intelligence, and shared values. They reject applicants who sound robotic or arrogant, no matter how well they meet financial requirements.
Chapters
We really focus on those 3 elements. They gotta be humble, so they're not arrogant. They're teachable. They're willing to give the kudos and the recognition to team members and not just take it all from themselves. If they're not teachable, it's gonna be really hard in the franchise system, right? They think that they come, they know everything. And being able to be emotionally intelligent, ask good questions, you know, be able to connect with people. Sometimes we'll get candidates in where it's just like, this is like talking to a robot, or this is, I'm having a really hard time connecting here. And, um, it's just not gonna be a good fit. And then our fourth one we added is being aligned and aligned in our vision of where we're going, how we're getting there, what we believe in, what our mission is, and values. And so we kind of use that. There's some subjectives there. Of course, there's financial things that we go through and just making sure that they're qualified on that, you know, front. But then we have to put them through kind of the grinder of screening and just making sure that we can actually grow them and develop them into a successful franchise owner.
