Hey everyone, this week we're going to be talking all about AI or artificial intelligence. We talk about four of the top rated AI applications that you can use as a doctor. So stay tuned. Welcome to the Passive Income MD Podcast where we talk about creating your ideal life through multiple streams of income. If you enjoy hearing about this stuff, make sure to hit subscribe. Now let's get on with the show. Before we get into this week's show, I just want to say thank you to all of you who are listening. I know that you're listening in your car, between cases, maybe traveling on a plane, wherever it might be. I really appreciate it and I really want to honor you for taking the time out of your day to listen, hopefully learn, be part of our community and just know that whatever we can do to continue to support you, let us know. We need the feedback and we appreciate you so much. Now let's get to talking about AI or artificial intelligence. It's all over the news with ChatGPT. We're going to talk a little bit about some of these apps that you can use as a doctor to help out your life. Now the idea that you there are these intelligent beings out there, robots that are would somehow take over the human race. Now it's been a theme in a lot of these sci fi movies that you and I have probably grown up with. Things like Terminator, Robocop, the Matrix, whatever it might be. I saw so many of these movies about 20 or 30 years ago and I know at that time things seem so far fetched that it would never be an actualization or realization in our lifetime. I'll tell you, we are here today. Now we're not at a place where robots and artificial intelligence are ready to take over all of our lives. However, there are aspects of our lives that can be made better through artificial intelligence. Now there are other things that we have to be concerned about and I know there are people a lot smarter than I am who are thinking about these things and thinking about the ramifications and consequences if we don't take care of how to regulate these things or how to actually utilize these things appropriately. Their ethics and morals behind all of these things. So I'm going to let some of those experts take care of that. Today we're going to dive into this world and talk about how some of these applications can revolutionize maybe even your medical practice, maybe some of your side hustles. So whether you're looking to boost efficiency, enhance patient care, generate additional income, we're going to talk about all of these things. On this episode, we're going to talk about different insights and resources. So just before we jump into all of these different applications, I want to let you know right now, AI is not here to replace physicians. It's really here to expand your abilities. The, the more specialized you are, the more it takes reasoning and thinking. That type of position and job is probably more immune to some of the changes that are happening in AI today. Luckily, us as doctors and physicians, knowing that we have to take not only expertise and book knowledge, be able to apply that in the real world, see real patients, take care of people on a different level than simply spitting out a protocol. Hopefully that makes me more secure knowing that we're going to be the last to be replaced in so many ways. So how can we use it now to help provide valuable insights for us, help it to enhance our decision making and have bigger reach at the end of the day. Now, one thing to understand about AI and artificial intelligence. Again, I'm just going to use the word AI for simplicity's sake. It's built on algorithms and there are still limitations. So we have to realize that even though we use some of these tools that we're going to be talking about, understand that you need to still cross reference, verify, and just don't rely solely on their recommendations. It can be a powerful tool for doing research, doing due diligence. There have been times where it's been shown that it's just created false information. So it's really important for you to understand the evolution. I think it's absolutely essential for every doctor, no matter what stage of their training, what stage of their business or the career they're in, that they stay updated on this topic and they learn about some of the new advancements. So I've spent a lot of time getting to understand this technology, meet some of the experts, hear what they have to say to be able to leverage this to the full degree of whatever that is out there for us. Trust me, you want to be on the front end of this, not play catch up. And so us in our community, I believe we can absolutely do that. I'm going to be talking a lot about AI over the next six months or year and trying to bring a lot of the things that I'm learning directly to this community. Now, there are a couple schools of thought. It's, it's whether you can totally replace people or it can, whether it can make people more efficient. So less people, doing more. Again, I don't think it'll replace people altogether, but how can we utilize maybe your staff, maybe your team to do more with less time? That's all about leverage. So let's talk about some of these apps right now. The first one is an obvious1. It's chatgpt. This is not a new thing for people. Everybody out there, I'm assuming, has heard about this. It's a language model out there that can generate human, like, responses. It's awesome for like, automated customer support, generating content for emails, social media posts. It can answer questions like you're talking to a friend. They can do the research for you. It can save time by providing quick answers to maybe frequently asked questions, answering basic inquiries. There are new plugins to be able to allow it to navigate the web, even pull resources. Personally, I've used it to help me craft an email, craft a response, to even plan my vacations. We've talked about utilizing vas and leveraging other people to do tasks that you don't like to do or something that you could pay someone to do for much less cost than your time. Well, ChatGPT is able to replace a lot of that stuff. You just have to know how to prompt it, how to ask it the right questions, how to plug it into some of the websites and software that you might have. So as a doctor, how are you able to use this? If you have your own medical practice, there are ways to automate things to make your communication with your patients a lot easier and faster. This is something that you can train your staff on when they need to respond and provide, you know, information, content to a lot of your patients. If you have a website or social media, it can absolutely help you provide and create content for that. If you're a physician who has a side hustle, whether you're online, you have a brand new, it can help you come up with marketing strategies, it can help you come up with content ideas, it can help you with research. We even on our website put a ChatGPT prompt generator. What that means is that it helps you take basic language ideas you have, helps you create more efficient and easier chat GPT prompts to help you get what you need. So if you're unsure about how to use ChatGPT, many of us probably are. If you haven't used it before, check out that thing. On our website, we create a prompt generator just for our community to make it easy for you to use. And it's absolutely free. But at the very least, if you're not sure how to use it, use it for research to organize your basic day instead of hiring a VA. You can just use ChatGPT to write your emails to plan your travel. And for example, I recently went on an Asia trip. I asked ChatGPT, I'm going to Tokyo for seven days. What's an example of a great itinerary for a family of four with two kids under age 10 that combines some outdoor activities as well as some nice sightseeing for some of the major sites in Tokyo. Also make sure to include travel. So I know how to get from the airport when I land at this time and how to leave on this particular day. Well, it spit out a complete itinerary for me in about a minute with all of the different locations I could visit, the times of day, how I get from each location to each location and I incorporated so much of it in our travel. It made life so much easier. Over the last 35 years, MLG Capital they focused on making smart investment investments in real estate and building relationships with their investors. They call it an investor centric fund structure. That's what they focus on where accredited investors, they can invest their money with confidence in funds that target diversification. They prioritize cash flow as well as low leverage with a what they call a unique dual sourcing strategy. So if you're unsure about investing due to rising inflation or volatility in the stock markets, well, I want to let you know that investing real estate, it's been historically one of the best hedges against inflation. In fact, I've been investing with this company for years. So if you're a medical professional and you'd like to learn more about investing with MLG Capital, make sure you visit passiveincomemd.com MLG Again, that's passiveincomemd.com MLG now back to the show. So let's quickly move to the next one. The next one is Doc GPT. You might not have heard this before, but it's specifically designed to assist with medical text generation, making it really valuable for you, especially as a doctor, to create medical documents, reports, patient summaries. It can help you automate medical transcription that obviously helps you save time, reduce errors. But just to let you know, it's not quite HIPAA compliant. So you have to be sure to figure out how to how do you utilize this without putting in patient information, but utilize it in generalized terms, then add some patient specific information later is accuracy obviously is dependent on the quality of the data, the training data that you give it, and it may not always produce clinically accurate outputs at this point in time. Now I will tell you AI applications across all of these are getting smarter and better by the week. So by the time you listen to this, by the time I, by the time you listen to this, maybe get to it, it's going to be, it's going to be leaps and bounds better than it was at the time I'm recording this. And obviously it lacks clinical judgment and expertise that only you can provide from your years of experience and your training. And that's a good thing because it's there to augment what you're doing, not to replace you. So what do I recommend using it for? Generate medical reports, discharge summaries, patient educational materials. This can specifically address some of the needs of your patients. Even communicating directions for home care, let's say for asthma, in a certain type of voice. You can even do fun things like put it in a very whimsical tone or even in the form of a story for some of your younger patients. For example, if you're a pediatrician, I think this will work beautifully for you to create some nice stories. Some you could even say even in the style of Dr. Seuss, it was put on some amazing stories to teach in terms of patient education in a way that appeals to your patients or. The third application is one called Opus Clip. Now many of you, if you hire a video editor for some of your content, whether it's on your website, whether it's on social media, this editor, again Opus Clip, it's an AI powered video editing tool, really simplifies the process of creating professional looking videos. You're going to get video editing, text overlays, subtitles, transitions, audio enhancements. I know a lot of these things make people's heads kind of swirl and make you dizzy. Especially for people who wanted create content but you don't want to edit it. Well, it's really user friendly. The interface is really simple, intuitive controls, you can figure it out really quickly. And for those of you with limited video experience, you don't want to hire all of these people out. It's expensive to do that. You don't have the time to do that. Anyone can do this through this application. Now it does come with some limitations as compared to having a professional or even using some of these professional editing software that you can do personally, there aren't as many customization options and I know sometimes some of these AI generated edits, they don't, they're not perfect. You might have to do a little bit of manual adjustment, but if you ever work with another editor, you'll know that that happens with anybody. That you give raw content to. You give it to them, they chop it up, but may not be exactly what you want. AI is getting better at this and so there might have to be a little bit of back and forth and some iterations for you to figure it out. But honestly, it saves time, it saves money, it helps you quickly create engaging videos for patient education, social media content, promotional materials. You can again add some customization, your name, your brand, visual effects. And it can take long content. Like you record an eight minute segment or whatever it is and just cut it up into little shorts. And that makes it super easy. All right, here's another great app. It's called Mid Journey. I don't know if you've heard about this. It's all over the news, it's all on social media. For people who use AI, it's a text to image generator. So what that means is that I don't know if you've ever looked for some sort of image. You have to go online, you have to google it. Some are protected, some you have to pay for. Maybe it's not exactly what you want, but using AI, these image generators, they become really popular, especially in the last year and they've gotten so much better. I've been using them and I've noticed the improvement even over the last month or two. This is one of our top apps because we like to see it as even like an idea generator. As you know, images mean everything, especially on social media. So what if you're able to create a text to say I want an image like this and it will be able to generate it instead of you trying to google it and trying to find it yourself. Here's an example of one where I know many of you on your websites and social media like to show images of physicians talking to patients. And I know a lot of these look like stock images, they look just so fake it might make you cringe when you put in your website. However, it may be able to create something like this for you. Create an image of a 40 year old female physician counseling a 35 year old male patient with a chart in front of her in a office setting in front of a window and sitting across a desk with diplomas hanging in the background. Just something like that. Again, this is just for example, and it'll create that, create different iterations. You can play with it. Now I know that sounds amazing, but of course these algorithms have some limitations as well. You've got to feed it the right prompts way of describing the image and it cannot generate Images with words or letters. At the moment, I don't think it's going to completely replace artists. But for you as a physician, if you're trying to find that right image, this can help you create it or at least help your VA create it. Whoever's helping you with your websites, it will take a little bit of playing around, but it's so powerful. Instead of you having to go and search for these images, which I've done before, taking minutes, hours to find that right image and finding out, you have to pay a significant amount for each of these. It can help you create logos, illustrations for your website, images for your social media site. And if you're a teaching role and you're having presentations, it would be awesome to sync up with your PowerPoint slides. Then what you can really do, if you want to customize it further, you could take that original image, take it to a graphic designer and have them tweak it a bit. Okay. Hopefully that didn't feel too intimidating for you or overwhelming. But I want to let you know that in the current apps that you use daily, AI is already a part of many of those, whether you knew it or not. Google Doc, Canva, Asana, some of these scheduling applications, even QuickBooks, have AI tools that you can use. I don't know if you notice in your emails, if you're using Gmail, it will help you generate emails, it will help you create responses and replies. Go ahead and check that out. I mean, changing the way we actually work, manage our daily tasks. The key word here is leverage. That's one of my favorite words to use all the time. I use it when it comes to debt, when it comes to using resources, experience, knowledge. In this case, I see AI as a powerful tool for you to leverage your time, experience your money, and will make things go faster and further using the right type of application. Obviously you want to increase your productivity so you can spend more time doing the things that you want to do. And if you, and if you're on the forefront of this, I promise it'll help you gain a competitive edge. So my challenge for you would be to think about how you can integrate AI into your medical practice, all of your entrepreneurial ventures and side hustles with obviously understanding that you still have to provide some oversight to make sure that it spits out the right information. There's a little bit of a learning curve, but it's not something that you can overcome. You've done much harder things in your life. Here in this community. We're going to be spending more time talking about how to do that, especially in some of our communities like our Facebook groups like Passive Income Docs. So make sure you're part of that. I'm going to be bringing in more experts to talk about this to help you use this tool to leverage your time, energy, expertise so that you can live the life that you want. Hope you enjoy this.
