The person that's struggling with the alcohol problem, they get so caught up in trying to get away with it that it blocks them from being able to see the problem and blocks them from being able to even make the decision to stop. Because a lot of times when I get people, they've already realized they don't even like to drink anymore. It doesn't even work good for them anymore. They're sick of the cycle, but they're so caught in this defensiveness against their partner that it blocks their vision and it blocks their ability because pride gets in the way and pride starts to get in the way on both sides.
