Mentalist Randy Charach performs a blindfolded routine with audience volunteers, claiming heightened senses while making comedic guesses about personal objects. He mixes mentalism with jokes about dentists and optometrists, often missing or hilariously misidentifying watches, glasses, and other items brought on stage.

Thanks for dressing up for the show.
Uh, hi.
Hi.
Hi.
What's your name?
Janine.
This is Janine. Everybody say hello, Janine.
Hello, Janine.
Janine, we've not met, correct?
No.
So then you don't realize that this isn't a gag, this is just the way I am. But my other friends realize it. Yeah, like that. Okay, now that we've cleaned up, what do you do, Janine, for work?
I do market research.
Market research? Okay, I was hoping you were a nurse because I brought, I brought some surgical tape here and some other stuff and coins. So this will be for you. Come on over here and stand right there. Excellent. Bring it to Janine's height. There we go. Okay, a couple of coins. Examine those. Do you notice anything unusual or strange or weird about the Anything unusual, strange, or weird about me, Janine?
No, I don't think so.
You had to look again to know? Okay. There's no, like, sliding panels or anything like that. Okay. And keep your eyes open. Can you see through the blindfold?
No.
No, you cannot. Okay, good. So what I'm going to do now is we're going to take the tape and the blindfold. I'm going to bind your wrists together. I'm actually joking, but it's quite amazing. See, like, she would actually do it. That's awesome.
It's called 50—
oh, she's so weighty. It's called 50 Shades of Randy Charach. You know, my dentist is in the room right now. I know what he's thinking. He thinks, I know, I'll write a book called 50 Shades of Decay. Okay, hold on to that for a moment, please. All right, so I'm going to take this tape and the coins. I'm going to put the coins over my closed eye, blocking my vision. Now, do me a favor. Keep your eye on this guy. I just saw a big smirk on his face. He's thinking like, oh, great, we can get him. People who are born, for one reason or another, become deprived of one or more of their senses are able to greatly heighten their other senses. So what I'm going to do is I'm going to block off my sense of vision right now and see if we can work with my other senses to be able to see without using my eyes. I'm going to take this coin, place it over my closed right eye. I'm going to close my eye for 2 reasons: one, so I can't see; also to protect my eyeball. And that goes there.
And— Is there an optometrist in the audience somewhere?
There actually is an optometrist in the audience. He's sitting right over there. Okay, this is going to go over my closed left eye, so please everybody don't do what the last audience did.
Leave.
Don't leave. Janine, I'll tell you what. Is it Janine?
Yeah. Yeah.
You can take the last piece of tape and keeping in mind I need to breathe and speak, place it anywhere you want. The general face region.
Can I put at least on your mouth?
No, remember I need to speak, but I know it's tempting, isn't it? Go ahead. Thank you. Hand me the blindfold at the center, please. Thank you. Now, Janine, you're going to tie it up, but before you do, have a look in my left ear. Any radios, transmitters, wires, leftover mashed potatoes from dinner?
No. No.
Anything in my right ear?
Nope.
Anything in between the two? Forget it, don't answer that. It wouldn't be very nice. Okay. Janine, go ahead and tie it up at the back, just like at home. You're really good at this. That's excellent. Okay. And now, Janine, where are you?
Here.
Padded shoulders or—
No.
Oh, that is your shoulder, right?
Okay.
That's a good thing. That's a very good thing indeed. Okay. Hand me the tape, please.
Thank you. Perfect.
Exactly how I planned.
All right.
Now I'd like to get 4 or 5 people to come up to the side of the stage. Don't actually come on the stage, but before you come up here, bring an— like before you come up to the side of the stage, bring some sort of an object with you. So reach into your purse. Women, I know you have tons of stuff in your purse. Feel that still there?
Good? Yeah?
You have tons of stuff in your purse. I know, for example, like when I go out For like, if I have to leave town, say for a month and go to Europe, my wife will take more stuff in her purse just to go shopping for the day. So there's lots of stuff. Bring something personal to you, nothing, you know, something that maybe has some meaning to you would be really good as well. And come up to the left of the stage with your object. Anita, are they coming?
Not yet, no.
Okay, so come on up here, bring something with you, some sort of a personal object. Stand off to the side of the stage. Maybe line up if you would, 4 or 5 people. Are they doing it now, Janine?
There's 3.
Okay, where's the microphone? Can you bring it over so it's by you if it isn't? Okay.
All right.
Now, whoever is closest, please come on over here and just gently place your object on the table and then step back. But before you do it, I would like you to show everybody so they can see what it is, okay? All right, good. The object is there and I am sensing something. The person who brought this up, say hello.
Hello.
You're a ventriloquist? The person who brought it up should be over here. Say hello.
Hi. Hi.
Are you disguising your voice? This is something that— it's something you've had for a long time, right?
Yes.
Yeah. It's something that— was this a gift?
Yes.
It was a gift. It was something that means a lot to you. There's 3 steps to every magic trick. But it's not a ring. It is a piece of jewelry, though. In fact, it's a watch. Yes, go ahead.
You can take that.
Come and get it.
Take it back.
Thank you very much. And let's get the next person with the next item. If you could just place it down somewhere. Again, it's kind of nice when it's something that's personal. Janine, you're still here, right?
Yep.
Okay, good. The person who brought it up, say hello.
Hi.
This is something that you actually have not had for a long time, correct?
Correct.
Yeah, I can tell. See, it's also a mixture here of being able to tell from the vibrations something about the person a little bit, about what's going on. I think this is just more of something that means nothing to you. It's something you picked up. It's wood. There's several pieces connected together, kind of like flappy-ish. If that's a word. If not, I've invented it now. Has there been something on your mind lately? Something that's been keeping you up at night?
Pardon me? No.
No, but there will be tonight. This is weird. I don't actually know what it is, but I'll describe it. It's wood. It's like light-colored wood. It's actually light if you picked it up as well. And it's, I don't know, something like a fan or some sort of thing like that.
Yeah? All right. Thank you. Thank you for bringing that up.
The next thing, if we could bring— Janine, you're just kind of making sure everybody's doing their stuff, right?
OK.
There's something there. It's white. There's movement. Say hello.
Hi. Hi.
Have you been doing a lot of favors for people recently? I think you have.
You have. Yes.
Too much, it's starting to bother you? In fact, you don't have enough time and you also brought up a watch, didn't you?
All right, something else.
Something else. How we doing, Janine? Janine, you're doing a great job, by the way. This is something— say hello. Hello.
Hai. Hai.
Is it something you wear?
No.
Yes. It's something that you— oh, this is interesting. You're thinking right now, ah, interesting, because even if he could see and look at this, he wouldn't know that. Is that what you were thinking? And that's— you were trying to get me, weren't you? That's okay. There's something— there's some string and cloth. It's white and glass and— Metal and plastic and— it's a glass case with your glasses inside, isn't it? Yes.
Yes? Should we do one or two more?
Let's do one or two more and see how we're doing. The person who brought this up, say hello.
Hi. Hi.
I can tell by your voice you have a very feminine nature. I'm picking up a—
Hoi.
It's kind of obvious. It's not obvious. But actually, it's funny because I'm picking up ring, but this is not a ring. And I don't even know if this belongs to you. And I don't know what it is, but thanks anyway. I just missed. It's a miss. I don't know. Sorry. Big round of applause for the guy with the deep voice. Hopefully I can get one more. Let's do one more so I can finish on a high note and get it. It's not an exact science. Sometimes I can know a lot about it, sometimes a little. The person who brought it up, say hello.
Hi.
Think of the colors and design. There's green and purple and flowery kind of thing. It's paper. Correct? Does that make sense?
Yeah.
Yeah? Show it up so everybody can see. Is that a hit?
Yeah.
Yes?
Thank you.
Thank you.
Okay.
Thank you for coming up here. Now, Janine, it's just us, right?
Yep. Okay.
Untie the blindfold. Now, when I take the tape off, if I have a really surprised look on my face, it's because my eyebrows are gone.
Nice. Thank you. Big round of applause for Jimmy.
Thanks so much for helping. I woke up this morning and I had a feeling, a feeling that tonight Tonight, something was going to happen. Something something different, something special, maybe even unexpected. And I wrote it down, and then I forgot about it. And actually, it's been up here the whole time. I don't know if you noticed that. But I wrote down something on a scroll here, and I'm going to I'm going to reveal it to you now. It says I. I have a feeling— That I will miss one thing tonight. Dot dot dot dot dot dot dot dot dot. Pause for anticipation. And that would be a cell phone. Thank you, everybody.
Thanks for coming up here. Thanks for coming.
