Hello again, space enthusiasts. So this is a very short episode which I promised to make and actually teased a few times on recent episodes. And it is to introduce our new Space Economy Online course, or mooc, that we are very excited about. If you're somebody who wants to learn about the business opportunities in the space sector, this course is for you, period. There are no prerequisites other than a healthy curiosity about space. You don't have to be a rocket scientist, your background really doesn't matter. You could be a student wanting to learn about entrepreneurship opportunities in space. You could be a professional already working, but contemplating a career shift to the space sector. You could be an investor like myself, interested in the investment opportunities in the sector. Or you could even be a government official curious about how space may foster economic development and or help solve problems in your constituency. We designed this course with a very broad audience in mind. And when I say we, I mean a unique partnership consisting of EPFL or the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne, which is one of the top ranked universities in the world. Space Innovation, formerly known as the Swiss Space Center. Space for Impact, a Swiss non for profit that is promoting the use of space technologies for positive impact on Earth. And my own firm, E2MC Ventures, an early stage investor in space startups. So this group is really unique in that it brings together sophisticated academic and practical perspectives. You will benefit from the knowledge and experience of not only one or two, but around 20 different instructors from universities such as EPFL, ETH and the University of Zurich. Space entrepreneurs, government officials and of course we have an astronaut. In over 30 lectures, you will learn about the basics and current trends of space, as well as about many different business models including satellite communications, Earth observation, satellite navigation and even in space manufacturing. You will also learn how these space applications can enable new products and services on Earth. Finally, the course will focus on how space can make Earth more sustainable and how to make sure to keep space sustainable in return. There's more information about this MOOC on the platform where it is hosted, which is edX, one of the world's top online learning platforms, which many of you may already know. The link is in the episode notes. As usual with EDX courses, while you can audit the course for free, there's also a certificate track where you will take tests along the way. And if you achieve a passing grade, you will. You will receive an official certificate that you completed the course. Check out the link and I hope to see many of you in class. Lastly, for those of you who have already taken my UDEMY course, Space Entrepreneurship 101, this new course is complementary. It covers many things not covered in the UDEMY course, and again, here you benefit from really a variety of many different lectures. And speaking about my other courses, a teaser. I'm currently working on yet another course in in a different format. This future one will be live taught over zoom to a limited cohort, allowing for real interaction. It will also be complementary to the other courses, not a substitute. It should be released shortly and if you want to sign up for updates, there's also a link in the episode notes. Whichever courses you end up taking, I really encourage you to keep learning about the business opportunities in Space. I truly believe it is one of the most promising areas for the next few decades. In that vein, live long and prosper.
