Time is Mind Trick #Shorts #MindTrick

Dr. Ray Catania argues that time is a mental construct, not a physical one. Habitual worry about the past and future steals awareness from the present, where real choice and creativity happen. In flow states, time distorts and ego quiets, unlocking potential that's already available now.

Time is less a fixed reality and more a mental framework that the egoic mind uses to organize experience, and that framework can quietly cap your potential. In my work, the biggest issue isn't clocks or calendars. It's what your mind does with time. It drags you into the past—memory, regret, identity—or launches you into the future—fear, fear, control, what-ifs. That movement steals your awareness from the only place you can actually create: the present moment. When you're not here, you're not choosing, you're reacting. So time as illusion doesn't mean time is fake in a literal physics argument. It means your attachment to time, your constant psychological travel, becomes a gatekeeper that blocks the very states where your best insights, emotions, and choices arise. Time becomes the illusion that convinces you reality is already decided by what came before, or not available yet until something arrives later. But transformation happens when you interrupt the loop and access a deeper state of mind, especially through meditation, mindfulness, and the flow state. The flow state is important here because it gives you a lived demonstration that time is flexible. In flow, people commonly report a distorted sense of time. Sometimes it speeds up, sometimes it disappears. The flow state is where you lose track of time and self-consciousness, essentially quieting the ego and becoming fully absorbed in the present. That's not just pleasant, it's powerful. In that condition, you're more creative, more intuitive, and more capable of aligned action. Meditation and mindfulness are the practices that removes obstacles between you and a broader field of consciousness, where you can feel limitless and access greater potential. When you return to presence, you stop letting yesterday author today, and you stop postponing your power until "someday." You become available, right now, to the version of you that can choose differently, create differently, and live as if your potential isn't waiting in the future, but awake in this moment.
