Dr. Ray Catania argues that negative self-talk creates self-imposed limits, while belief shapes what's possible. A man won a $500 scratch-off ticket but dismissed it; a family that believed they could win the lottery won twice.
Perception changes your truth, and your truth automatically changes your reality. But it starts by changing perception, and that starts by changing your thought-speech patterns, the way you experience, the way you say something, the way you do something. If you say, I'm never gonna do this, you're never gonna do it. That's it. You've limited yourself. You've capped yourself. It's not gonna change until you get rid of that, that, that thought.
I had somebody recently, I won a $500 scratch-off ticket and their response was, "That never happens to me." And I said, "And it never will." There you go.
You just did it to you, right? There was a family that lived in our neighborhood who hit the lottery for the first time, right? And they were obviously, you know, elated. And, um, what happened was now because they hit it, they believed it was achievable. So they hit it again. There's a perfect example of what we hit it again. What are the odds of the same family hitting the lottery twice?
