Good morning everyone, or good afternoon from wherever you are. Happy Sunday. I just wanted to pop in and do a video. I haven't actually done a video, I feel like, in a really long time. I've just been busy, as I think we all have, but I just wanted to take some time today and check in and see how everyone's doing. I also just wanted to share 5 self-care things that I'm going to be doing today on my Sunday in an effort to hopefully motivate you guys to do the same or something similar for yourself. I know we've all been busy. It has been very crazy busy for me with work lately, and it's about to get even busier. And just with my kids being in both virtual and hybrid school, they're doing outdoor club soccer with all COVID precautions in place, but there's just a lot of coordination at home with them and work at the same time, cooking, cleaning, and all that kind of stuff. So for today, what I want to do for myself are 5 things. So first off, I am doing intermittent fasting, and that's something that I do every every day. I usually fast for about 14 to 16 hours from when I finished my dinner the night before to when I have my breakfast or my brunch the next morning. And that's just a really great way to detoxify, kind of cleanse your system, and also just allow you to kind of reset when it comes to your nutrition. And then the rest of the day, I'll be focused on getting balanced, nutritious foods in the rest of my meals. Another thing that I'm doing today is another daily practice that I have, which is drinking hot water with lemon lemon and honey. I am my mother's daughter and she taught me this many years ago and it has been so helpful. You know, getting that citrus from the lemon is really great because you're getting vitamin C. It's excellent for your immune system. Being able to hydrate with that hot or warm water is just really soothing, especially this time of year during the winter. And then having the honey, not more than about a teaspoon of raw unfiltered honey, really just helps. It has antibacterial properties and for me personally, this time of year is when I get allergy-induced asthma, and my asthma, if it's not taken care of and dealt with, can get pretty severe. So having that hot water with lemon and honey and drinking it daily has been so helpful. I'm actually not coughing, not, you know, feeling asthmatic symptoms, and I honestly owe it to that. I don't take any medicine for it. For allergies, I just use a saline salt and water nasal spray. So I'm really into natural remedies if possible, and I've tried things like inhalers and allergy medicines and all this stuff, and I definitely think if that's what you need to do, if you have allergies, by all means do it, but I found some really great natural remedies, and that hot water with lemon and honey is a big one for me. So that is something that I do every day all year round, even when it's not allergy season for me. The third thing that I'm gonna do is right after this video, I'm heading out for an hour-long walk. My husband took my kids to play outdoor basketball, and so this is a rare time that I get to myself, so I'm gonna get outside. It's a beautiful day. It's a little chilly but sunny here in Northern California. We've had a ton of rain over the last week, so I haven't been able to get out as much as I would have liked. So I'm taking advantage today, and I'm going to probably do a mix of not having, you know, any earphones or anything in and just kind of enjoying the calmness and the peacefulness and just kind of hearing the birds chirping and kind of enjoying the outdoors. But then I always do bring my earbuds, and I do sometimes have my phone with me in case I want to listen to music, which I find really relaxing and calming, or a really podcast, so I will probably do that maybe the second half of my walk, but for the first half I'm gonna just try to sort of have some silence and really just enjoy some quiet time, which to be honest with two boys who are 10 and 13, I don't get a lot of quiet time. What else? And then I'm also going to do some yoga after I do my walk. I love to practice yoga, especially on Sundays. I teach fitness and dance classes throughout the week, and so it is nice to have some things that I can do just for myself, which include walking and yoga. And then the fifth thing that I'm going to do today, and again it might not happen right away because my kids are going to come home from basketball and I'm going to probably need to feed them and whatnot, but I'm going to try to do some reading. I have a large stack of books on my nightstand and I have not been able to read them as frequently as I would like because I am so busy finalizing my own book, which that'll be another video. There's a lot more details to share on that coming soon, but I am publishing and launching my first book in the next several months, so I will keep you posted. But I'm excited to have a little time today to read other books and just kind of enjoy that because I— that is something I really truly like to do for myself and my own personal growth. So anyway, I just wanted to share those things with you all, and I hope that you all have a good and relaxing and safe and healthy Sunday, and I hope you're able to prioritize. It may not be all 5 things or 5 things at all, but you know, try to do whatever you can to take care of yourself so that you can start the new week and the new month. Tomorrow is February 1st, so you can start fresh and just be ready to go. So with that, have a great Sunday, and I will be back with another video soon. And I miss you guys, and it's good to kind of be back and interacting with you all. So take care and see you soon.
