Hi guys and happy Sunday! I hope you guys are having a good weekend. If you live in California or anywhere along the West Coast, you are probably going stir crazy right now like myself and my family where we have been literally stuck inside for almost a month now on top of being in the pandemic and being in quarantine. These wildfires have been really tough and my heart goes out to all the families that have been impacted. Hopefully things will be getting better in the days and weeks ahead, but I have spent my my weekend cooking and baking cookies, cleaning my house, watching shows on Netflix and Amazon Prime, and just hanging out with my family. I did not work out yesterday. I just wasn't feeling it, was feeling really tired, so I decided to listen to my body and take a much-needed rest day. But today I was back up and at it again, and I just finished a 60-minute metabolic training workout. And what I wanted to go over with you guys today are a few moves that I do in my classes that not only give you metabolic training but help with your cardiovascular activity, strength training, and flexibility work as well. So what we're going to do are a combination of moves that flow together, um, starting with the downward dog. We go into a plank, we go down into a push-up, and then we do a set of mountain climbers. Now it's not quite as intimidating as it may sound, and I'm just going to show you quickly how to do those. So we're going to start by taking a spot on our mats, and I'm going to show you a really quick and easy way to get into a downward dog from the floor. So you're going to start on all fours, so You're gonna have your hands about shoulder width apart. Your knees are also shoulder width apart. You're gonna come onto the balls of your feet and you're just gonna pop up into your Down Dog. And this is where you wanna make the necessary adjustments with your feet and your hands. Make sure that your heels are touching the floor or close to it. You're tucking in your core, um, your bottom is up, and then your hands again are nicely spread out shoulder width apart. So you're gonna come into a plank position where you hover over your shoulders and hands. You're gonna drop your chest to the floor into a push-up, come back into a plank, and then we mountain climber for 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. Back into your plank, come back into that down dog, back into a plank again, down into a push-up, back up, and then 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. We'll do that one more time. So down dog, You can adjust your feet if you need to. Plank, push-up, plank, and mountain climber. 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. And then walk your hands slowly back up, tucking in your core, and then you can roll it up. So you are definitely going to feel your heart rate, you're going to feel like you got a little stretch in, um, and some good flexibility and strength work as well. So I hope that that's helpful for you guys. If you want to work out with me during the week, I offer 3 livestream classes per week: Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, 9 to 10 AM Pacific Standard Time.
