In this instructional video, Reena Vokoun, founder of PassionFit, explains how to build an effective home‑gym by investing in a few key pieces of equipment—Bosu ball, Swiss (stability) ball, medicine ball, and dumbbells. She demonstrates a series of specific exercises for each tool, describing body positioning, movement cues, and the primary muscle groups worked (core, glutes, thighs, hamstrings, shoulders, chest, back, biceps). For the Bosu ball she covers leg lifts, glute/hamstring lifts, plank‑knee‑to‑elbow variations, and push‑ups on both flat and inverted positions. For the Swiss ball she shows crunches, planks, knee tucks, and push‑ups. The medicine ball segment includes side‑to‑side lunges with a chest‑level hold and weighted squats. Finally, she outlines basic dumbbell movements such as biceps curls, overhead presses, deadlifts, and upright rows. Throughout, she emphasizes the convenience, cost‑effectiveness, and time‑saving benefits of having this equipment at home, and ends with a call to subscribe and share the channel.

Hi guys, my name is Reena Vokoun and I'm the founder of PassionFit. Today I want to spend some time talking to you about how you can invest in various pieces of workout equipment so you can get a really effective workout at home and don't have to spend the time, money, and energy traveling to a gym or studio. We're gonna start with what's called a Bosu ball. This is a great piece of equipment that can really help you to work your core and challenge your balance. What we're gonna do is start by stepping with our left foot on the ball. You're gonna tuck in your core, holding your hands out with your elbows out, you're gonna lift that right leg and lower it. This is gonna work the lower body where you're getting the outer thighs as well as the glutes. You can switch sides and then bring your right leg in the center of the ball to really even your stance, bring the left leg out, elbows tucked out, and then you're gonna lift that leg and lower it. So these again are leg lifts on the Bosu ball. Another exercise you can do is centering one foot on the ball again, you can do leg lifts behind you to work the glutes and the hamstrings. So your hands are gonna come out to the side for support and balance, and you're gonna lift that leg behind. You can do the same thing with the other foot in the center, the other foot behind, and lifting and lowering. Again, this really challenges your balance because you're on an uneven surface. The third exercise you can do with a Bosu ball is turn it over. So what you're gonna do here is turn it so that the circular part is facing towards the floor. You're gonna grab hold of the handles on the outside, and what you can do is go into a plank position where you're gonna tuck your knees into your chest to really work the core and the obliques. And then you can also do push-ups on the Bosu ball. So when you're doing the planks, it looks like this. You're gonna come out with your feet out to about shoulder-width apart, and you're gonna tuck your knee to the opposite elbow, squeezing your core as you do this. Again, you can also do push-ups where you bring your chest down and up towards the back of the ball. So those are really effective exercises you can do with the Bosu. In addition, you can use what's called a Swiss ball. This is a great ball to use for some basic core exercises. Exercises like a crunch, where you bring your feet out, you put your hands behind your head, elbows out to the side, and you're just gonna lift your shoulder blades, head and neck off the ball. So this is just a more fun and interesting take on a basic crunch. In addition, you can do a plank on the ball, where you put your ankles up onto the ball, your hands are out to the sides, and then tucking in your core and squeezing your glutes, You can do some knee tucks where you bring your knees into your chest using the ball. You can also do push-ups on the Swiss ball as well. In addition, we have another type of ball called a medicine ball. So you can get these in 6, 8, or 10 pounds, and what you can do is hold it out at chest level and then pivot and lunge from side to side. So here you're working your chest, your shoulders, your core, as well as your legs. In addition, you can do some squats where you come down with the ball and bring it back up to chest level. So this is another great exercise to again work the lower body, upper body, and core. And finally, you can use something very basic such as dumbbells. Dumbbells can be used to work the biceps. You can also work the shoulders with overhead presses. You can work the lower back with deadlifts. You can do upright rows, which work the shoulders, and so much more. So feel free again to invest in these pieces of equipment, make your life easier and more efficient by getting to do these exercises whenever you have the time. Thanks so much for tuning in, guys. Have a great day. Feel free to subscribe to my YouTube channel, like it, and share it with your friends, and I'll be back with more videos soon. Take care.
