In this solo wellness video, Reena Vokoun, founder of PassionFit and former tech industry professional, warns that pervasive use of smartphones, tablets, laptops, and social‑media platforms blurs the line between work and personal life, creating an epidemic of digital over‑connection that harms health, especially sleep. Drawing on her corporate experience and wellness certification, she explains how constant connectivity can negatively affect wellbeing and shares concrete strategies to reclaim balance: deleting non‑essential apps, removing work email from personal devices, scheduling regular social‑media hiatuses, and instituting a 30‑ to 60‑minute screen‑free window before bedtime. She urges viewers to take these steps seriously, invites them to explore more wellness content on her channel, and ends with a call to subscribe, like, and share.

Hi guys, my name is Reena Vokoun and I'm the founder of PassionFit. Today I wanted to talk to you guys about work-life balance and how to prevent technology from negatively impacting your health. We are all so connected these days with our smartphones, our tablets, our laptops, and other devices. We're on social media most hours of the day, whether that be Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or Snapchat, and many of us are texting our family and friends. So we find it between work and personal lives nearly impossible to disconnect. But I wanted to tell you guys, it is so important that we all do take that time to disconnect. I've worked in the tech industry and in corporate America for many years, and I've also been trained and certified in the areas of wellness. So I know how people can be negatively impacted, but also I know what the ramifications are on their health, and I've experienced it myself. So I think it's important to look at yourself and look at your lifestyle and figure out ways that you can cut out some of the times that you are on screens and using technology. Perhaps you delete your apps off of your phone, or you take off your work email so you're not constantly connected to work. Maybe you find certain times of the day where you're just going to go on hiatus and not check your social media. And during bedtime, perhaps you set 30 to 60 minutes where you actually do not check any email and use any screen so that it doesn't disrupt your sleep. This is something that's becoming really important. It's almost becoming an epidemic in our society and is something that I think we all should take a little bit more seriously.
