In this interview, host Ashley talks with health and wellness expert Reena Vokoun about her new motivational wellness tool, "Your Power Move" by PassionFit. Reena explains that a Power Move is a small, actionable micro‑step that helps people overcome the initial resistance to start a task in four life areas: career/productivity, family/self‑care, health & wellness, and a personal power playlist. She gives concrete examples for each—typing a few words to start a work project, taking a brief nap or walk to recharge for family duties, doing a one‑minute plank, breathwork, or eating a fruit to kick‑start a workout, and creating a music playlist that boosts mood. Reena also announces that she will launch a podcast titled "Your Power Move by PassionFit" in the fall, where she will be the host and Ashley will be the first guest. The conversation is upbeat, encouraging listeners to adopt these micro‑actions to build confidence, energy, and long‑term success.

Whether you're trying to start a workout routine or maybe a big project at work, that first step can always seem like the hardest. But our health and wellness expert Reena Vokoun says you can use a power move to help you get started. Reena, it is always so great to see you. You have been in business with PassionFit for about 11 years. I've been interviewing you for the last 2 years. You always amaze me with your knowledge, and you have something new that's coming up.
Yes, yes, you're going to hear it here first, of course, with my local esthé Hey family, we're launching a new concept called Your Power Move by PassionFit. And really what it is, is a motivational wellness tool that allows you to take that first step, that little micro action that motivates you in different areas of your life. It's gonna instill energy, confidence, and long-term success.
Those first steps are often the hardest, but I imagine you, just knowing you, you have a way to make it easier for all of us. And you have 4 key examples today. What's the first?
Yeah, let's start with career and productivity. Especially it's summer, we're all thinking about our vacations, or maybe going to that happy hour. So if you're not feeling motivated to maybe send off an email or start writing an article or a presentation, just get in front of your computer and just start typing those first few words, or maybe create an outline of what it is you're going to write or what you want to present. And that's just gonna help you to again take that first step, get over that motivational barrier, and then once you get started, you can get in the zone, and hopefully then you can complete that task or that project. So it's just a little productivity tool that again can help us when we're feeling sluggish and not motivated just to get get started.
That is so great, especially for summer, because we're out of our normal routines with the kids at home and all the chaos happening. What else do you have for us?
Yeah, so when it comes to your family and your personal relationships, I think all of us often feel, you know, everybody wants a piece of our time and energy, whether it's our family and friends or coworkers or people in our community. So it's kind of a little self-care power move, and this is where maybe taking a little bit of a time, a moment for yourself to think about what do I need to do to energize myself in this moment so that I can go out and help the people that really need it, right? So if it's taking a little nap or going and taking a quick little 10-minute walk or just having a quiet moment to yourself. If you're a mom, we're moms so we know this, right? Just that little moment to just take a breath and, you know, gather yourself before you need to go and help anyone that needs it. So it's kind of putting your oxygen mask on first, which I know we've talked about on the show, but that's a little power move to help you to then really focus on your relationships and your family.
Okay, wonderful. What's the third power move?
Yeah, so this one's in health and wellness, which is kind of my sweet spot for PassionFit and what my company and I focus on. And really, it takes focusing on nutrients, breathwork, and movement, right? Those are all areas that can give us energy and help to unlock our full potential for peak performance. So whether it's on the movement side, just doing a 1-minute plank, maybe it's just hanging out in a little stretch or downward dog, maybe it's doing some breathwork or eating a piece of fruit— these are all, again, those first steps that you can take to complete a full workout, or to cook the healthy meal that you know you need to make, or to sit down for your meditation practice when you're just feeling like you've got a million things on your to-do list. So those are just examples of, again, that first step to get you motivated.
Okay, and I love that you call it a power move because it's really taking away that element of making it seem like a dreaded task. It's like, okay, I can do this. So what's the fourth power move?
Yeah, so this is a fun one. It's all about creating a power playlist. Music has definitely been shown through research to change our brain chemistry, change our mood, and motivate us, right? We've all had those songs that really get us going or get us going in our workout. So I would say create your power playlist. So that you can figure out what your next power move is going to be. Any type of genre, any type of music that's gonna get you fired up and ready to go.
Well, this is a new movement. It's not just something you're focusing on for today during our segment. You have some big news coming up that's all about the power move.
I do, and of course, again, sharing it here first. Um, in the fall, I'm launching my first ever podcast called Your Power Move by PassionFit, and I will be the host. And Ashley, I've asked you, uh, just before this segment if you would like to be my first guest, and you graciously said yes. I just, you were the first person that I thought of. You've been interviewing me for 2 years and I thought I would love to be able to interview Ashley and have her share all about her background and her power move. So, oh my gosh, I'm so excited.
I'm so touched. I gotta start thinking about what to say because it's just one big mess inside this head.
Oh, you've got time. It's not launching till the fall, but as more details come up, we'll definitely share it on the show.
Oh my gosh, Reena, thank you so much. And I know our viewers appreciate you just as much as I do, so we're so excited for your success and looking forward to seeing more.
Sounds great.
Thank you so much.
Thank you so much, Ashley.
