Food Energetics for Dogs & Cats - Sept. AJA with Canine Herbalist Rita Hogan & Julie Anne Lee DCH

This is a YouTube video titled "Food Energetics for Dogs & Cats - Sept. AJA with Canine Herbalist Rita Hogan & Julie Anne Lee DCH" recorded in July 2025. The content is a detailed conversational discussion featuring multiple speakers including Rita Hogan, Julie Anne Lee DCH, and Stephanie. They explore the topic of energetics in holistic canine herbalism, focusing on how individual dogs' energetic patterns influence their health and dietary needs. The conversation covers concepts such as warm and cool body spectrums, moisture levels, and the importance of individualized herbal treatments. Rita Hogan also introduces her comprehensive course on canine energetics, emphasizing practical applications and learning resources for dog owners and practitioners.
All right. Hello, everyone. Okay, so if you have questions about energetics tonight, please put them in the Q and A area for me. I'll be your moderator. Free flow conversations in the chat. And without further ado, Rita, maybe we start with just an overall look, like, what is energetics when it comes to our animals.
So energetics is a system of patterns in the body. Okay, so holistic cane and herbalism looks at a plant's actions, and it looks at a plant's energetics, like, who is that plant as an individual? All right? And then we combine that, and then we look at the patterns in both of those entities and match them together. I think that's really the beauty of holistic herbalism, and it's not based on five good herbs for arthritis. That is what I would refer to as allopathic herbalism. It makes herbalism a lot easier, but you don't get the results that a lot of people are looking for. It doesn't address your dog as an individual. And I think that as we move towards more community, as we move towards more interconnectedness, understanding of the body as an ecosystem, as the planet as an ecosystem, as our relationships of people and animals, as we start to understand that and go back to nature, because I think that we are lacking nature. And whether we're bringing nature into our bodies through plants or whether we're sitting in nature, I think that it's a big missing. And we're all understanding how that missing is manifesting in our relationships, in how we're interacting with the world in sickness, in preventative medicine. So as we move towards that, I think that a lot of people are going to understand that where the sweet spot is at is individual medicine. And that means we need a lot more practitioners. We need a lot more understanding of the body as a holistic being. We need a lot more understanding of our dogs as individuals. And it makes it harder, but you get the result. You get the preventative medicine. You can get way closer to cure of some of these issues that are mainly inflammatory. And inflammatory issues, in my opinion, are lack of nature issues, lack of air, lack of being on the earth in our bare feet, and our dogs being outside breathing air. I say this all the time, and it's nauseam, but the average American dog gets less than 15 minutes of exercise a day. And sometimes that's just in the house. So, you know, and they share our vibrational field. And most people right now come home from work completely stressed out. They're eating under stress. They're trying to check their voicemail and do all this crazy stuff while they're feeding their dog. So the dog is eating under stress. They're not assimilating, they're not activating their vagus nerve like they need to be. We're not relaxing, we're not taking that time out. And I think that it's starting to show. So individualized medicine is some of the best type of medicine that we can find. It kind of reminds me of homeopathy. Homeopathy is individualized medicine. It doesn't really work all that well. When it's not, it can. But when you see it really shine is when you have those individual characteristics. So energetics can help you figure out your dog as an individual. And once you start seeing patterns in your dog, you'll start to understand how bodily influences manifest as symptoms. That is, looking at your dog's constitution, what patterns govern their body. There's patterns in your dogs that govern your body from birth. And these patterns play out. They can get worse and they can get better. So there's a spectrum of energetics. You have the first layer, which is your temperature layer. That's internal temperature, not external temperature. So, and it's not like 1.2 or 102. This is how warm is your dog? How cool is your dog? Where is that on the spectrum? So if you look at the spectrum and there's a great article on odor beast that shows that spectrum. But you've got neutral, and then you've got warm, slightly warm, warm, slightly hot, hot and very hot. And then you got slightly cool, cool, slightly cold, cold and deep cold. And the cold and deep cold and the hot and very hot are disease states. For instance, one layer of using energetics is looking at food. And I'm not talking traditionally Chinese medicine all that much because that is very black and white box. And the energetics that I experience in my practice aren't all that black and white. So. But say, for instance, we have a warm dog and we feed them. Who's healthy, healthy, warm dog. We feed them lamb every day for the next three years, we are going to get disease. And the reason why is because lamb is very hot, very hot meat, and it's going to slowly move your dog over down the spectrum. Too hot, because you're constantly giving them. And let's just say we do lamb and then we get on the turmeric bandwagon and, oh, turmeric's great for arthritis. It's great for inflammation. So we add some turmeric, and your dog's a little Nauseous. So we're going to add some ginger. We're really warming that dog up and it's already warm. And then we add in antibiotics, steroids, vaccines. Those all add heat to the body. They all add an imbalance in the gut, and the gut dictates where that's going to go. And then we have the other spectrum, which is cool. So say that your dog is born cool. They're a cool dog, so they kind of seek out warm places. They like to lay in the sun. They're happy, they're not in your face like a warm dog. They're more like, hey, let's go for a walk and be chill. Right? Let's just hang out and be chill. You know, this dog is the best dog. He follows me off leash, he hangs out with me, like, dude, you know, all that stuff. And he's naturally cool. And you start feeding him pork, which is a very cold meat, in my opinion. And you start feeding him pork every day, and not just intermediately. Like, dog can handle some cool proteins every now and then. Rotated in the diet, sure, but not consistently. And then you start giving him things like, let's just say that someone said your dog needed a bitter, and you started feeding him an herb called gentian, which is a very cold herb, and he gave it to him every day for his digestion. Sooner or later, you're going to manifest some type of imbalance in that dog and it's going to start showing up as probably digestive upset and gastritis, and you're going to get inflammation in the gut. So that's one level of energetics. And then we had a second layer, which is the moisture element in the body. And moisture isn't just water. You may think, well, my dog drinks adequate water. Moisture element isn't really how much your dog is drinking. It's what is the level of moisture in your dog's tissues inside their body. And so across the board, many, many, many herbs are drying. Sometimes they're not drying in a short term, which is maybe three months or less. But if you, for instance, gave your dog dandelion root, you know, dandelion root is very popular for the liver and for many, many things. However, it's very drying. So if your dog is dry on the inside, right, and it does not necessarily means that if they've got dry skin, your dog's automatically dry on the inside. Dryness can actually come from dampness, which I'll discuss later on. But if they're dry, you don't want to make them drier. And water in the body, or moisture in the body is more than water. It's fats and oils and lipids and water. There's a little thing the liver does called bile. Bile emulsifies fats and oils and water, and it makes them mix in the body. Without bile, you can't mix. But people think, oh, well, moisture is always water. It's not. It's also lipids. It's fats and oils. So we look at where that spectrum is. So, you know, again, you have a neutral spectrum. You have slightly dry, dry and very dry. And then, you know, you've got slightly, slightly damp and then very damp. And sometimes the body's very tricksy because it's so intelligent that a damp dog can actually show dryness on the exterior of their body, which can get confusing for person. They're like, oh, my dog's so dry. And so they give them stuff to moisten their body, but they're actually making it worse. Or your dog is damp and it manifests. I'm sorry, your dog is dry and it's manifesting some other way, which can usually lead to, like, things like heat, where you say, oh, my dog's a really warm dog, but actually that heat is coming from being too cold. And those are more advanced layers of energetics. But it's fascinating. And what are the benefits of energetics? Right? Like, okay, Rita, you know, I get it. But what are the benefits? Right? And the benefits are when you start realizing even that first layer of warm to cool, right, where your dog lays in that situation. And there are some neutral dogs. I haven't met a lot of them, but I have met some where. If you find out where your dog lays on that spectrum, it can dictate what herbs work for them. It can dictate what foods work for them. It can dictate how close they are to those corners, which are disease states. And your dog may already be in the very hot to deep cold. They may be on those sides. And that means that you can choose herbs that bring them closer to the middle. And that's where you want to be. Over here, you want to be in either warm or slightly warm or cool or slightly cool. That's where you want to be and you want to stay there. And health does not stay in stasis. Okay, I got my dog there, and we're just going to stay there. That's not how the body works in time. We either drag this way or that way or. And it depends on what we put in our Dog's body, whether it's pharmaceuticals or herbs or essential oils or mushrooms or whatever you want to say, it all has to be processed by the body and it has an effect on it.
It's really, it really is similar to like when you first started talking about it, because I don't. That's not my wheelhouse for sure. Energetic. So when you, when you talk about it that way, it reminds me a lot of. I was talking to Stephanie and our team today about signature for homeopathy. It's called the signature of the remedy. So really looking at every single remedy as an individual and then matching that individual with the individual body in which you're giving it to. Right. It reminds me a lot of that. And even, even when you look at homeopathics and it's like better by warmth, better by cold, better by like, yeah, they're better by warmth, some better by drinking cold liquids, like heartburn is better drinking cold liquids or the knee pain is better by cold or the knee pain is better by hot. That's how you decipher which remedy to use, depending on the symptomatology of the remedy or the, the signature of the remedy and the symptomatology of the, of the body that you're. That you're giving it to. Right. So it's kind of similar, similar feel.
Yeah, it is. It's definitely very similar. And looking at these remedies, these herbs as individuals and with their own energetics and you know, and you can take it a step further, which is much more advanced, but the imbalance or disease itself has its own individual energetics that you can take that a step further. But like in my practice over the last 20 years, I have noticed, you know, I've noticed things like for instance, bromelain. Right. Bromelain doesn't work very well for warm dogs at all. In fact, if I'm working with a warm dog, I. If they're doing like a digestive enzyme, we use bromelain free enzymes at all times and it makes a huge difference. And you know, I just find it fascinating because sometimes it's these little things that we can do for our dogs, these little tweaks that make such a huge difference for them overall. And it goes for ourselves as well. And when you start paying attention to what your dog does, you start seeing those patterns and you start seeing these imbalances. That's not something that is completely insurmountable to something that's completely manageable. And plants are intelligent and that's another thing. And for Instance, knowing the energetics of. Of different things helps with things that we do for our dogs, that we don't realize that you can't control a living being, which I believe plants are inside the body. For example, like my pug, Sadie Nubbins, she was developing a dry nose. And my niece takes care of her right now for reasons we won't go into, but she was over my house for a few weeks, and I said, you know, her nose is dry. I don't have pugs with dry noses. So, like, you know, I'm like, her nose is dry. What's up with that? And so it turns out that Figgy Nubbins, Biggie Nubbins, is a cool dog, but she's also a little bit on the dry side. She had been consuming garlic, a garlic powder, like a flea and tick remedy, for a very long time without taking a break. And sure enough, we discontinued that remedy. That was very drying in the ingredients. And within, I would say, three weeks, her nose was nice and moist. Her dryness had completely gone away. The garlic and the formula itself was very, very drying. And it was just way too much. And so that was the first thing I looked for, was I went through her diet and looked for anything very drying, like, what are you giving her? And sure enough, that was it.
But you know what I think is, even. I mean, that's. To get to that result is amazing, and that's what we all want to do. But I think the step before that, it circles all the way back to what you first said when you got on here, where you feel like a lot of disease comes, comes from not being in nature, Right? But I think. But when you were saying, you know, we're on our phones and we're here and we're there, I always. I always say to people, you can feed all the supplements, you can do all the herbs, you can do all the holistic medicine that you want on the planet, but if you. If you don't, if you're not grounded enough to see changes in your dog, it won't matter what you give them. Like, I find that people are really not connected enough for obs to. With observation, like observational skills. And I think that's because we're not in nature. When you're in nature and you're in your. You're around that all the time.
Your.
Your power of observation becomes stronger. Like when I'm with my horses, I'm very observant because I don't want to get stuck, stepped on, and I don't Want to get. But I'm also naturally like that because, you know, there's. They have such subtle, subtle things when they get sick. Right. Like, if you can catch it early, it's so much better. With such big animals. Right.
They also, you know, go big or go home.
Exactly.
When they get sick, they get really sick.
They get really sick.
And nature, you know, the body mimics nature.
Yes, for sure it does. And that's what I'm trying to say. It's like. It's like when you're outside, your power of observation becomes stronger. When we're stuck inside and we're on our computer, everything's given to us, right. Like, we're distracted. We're not observant. We don't. We don't become. We're not observant. When we're stuck in a room and stuck on our computers and stuff.
We're.
We just. We just lose that sense, I think. So the fact that, you know, you saw her and instantly you see her nose, I think, I think in your, in your comment at the beginning about just not being in nature enough, I think it's causing so many diseases, and part of that is our lack of observation and being able to even see when something's helping or something's not helping.
Yeah. And I completely agree. And, you know, using energetics is also. When you start to understand the concepts of energetics, it makes you more observant and it makes you. And also when you get to know plants as individuals, it really makes you want to get outside and meet these creatures. They are amazing. And it makes you want to, you know, like, what is this plant that makes my dog so healthy? You know, what is this plant that got rid of my dog's heart murmur? What is this plant? You know, and start asking those questions. And, you know, it's. It. I think it's individual for everyone that what brings them to a healing path and like, even what's bringing them to the zoom meeting right now, I think that's for everyone, but I think that the. Everyone's looking for an alternative to pharmaceutical medicine. And the issue. The issue there is that we can't fall back into that allopathic paradigm in that we're saying, I even have some of my students, they'll ask me, rita, what herbs are good for arthritis? Well, I can't really answer that because I don't know your dog. I can give a whole slew of herbs that are good for arthritis. Sure. But I don't want you going giving every single herb that I Talk about to your dog. We need to figure out because let's just say we had, I like to call it kidney based arthritis in a golden retriever. Right. It could be four golden retrievers and four different herbs that cure that arthritis or help with that arthritis in those golden retrievers. Completely different herbs because they're matching up with that individual dog. And does it make it harder? Yes. Does it take longer to learn? A lot of people ask me, oh, how do I find out about an herb? You're not going to find out about an herb if you. Let's, let's just use hawthorn. I think you mentioned hawthorn. If you Google hawthorn, it's not going to come up. It's going to. WebMD is going to come up. A lot of like pharmaceutical based websites are going to come up and they're going to give you these side effects and blah, blah, blah. If you really want to find out about an herb, tell type in hawthorn herbalist, the word herbalist and the word monograph. Okay. And that will give you some websites where you have an herbalist writing about this plant. And most good herbalists are going to have, you know, communication with the plant. They're going to be sitting with the plant, they're going to know the energetics of the plant. They're going to tell you it's cooling, you know, they're going to tell you how it tastes so that you can research the plant. Yes. We want things given to us for sure. Absolutely. But you start learning about these plants as individuals and you know, you start with one and you just, you know, and my issue is like with my dogs, I have about six plants that I use pretty much all the time with them that do really well for them and I give them to them at different times of the year. And I think my most that I've used with them are probably 10 over their lifetimes. So it's not like you have to learn 50 herbs. There's really good non toxic herbs and some homeopathic versions of those herbs that you can use for your dog and it doesn't have to be overwhelming.
And I also think that like you said, it's, it's. I always feel like people will move into what they feel is works for them too. Right. Like I remember my Prof. At school and every time you say the mon. What did you say? The monograph. No, what did you call monograph? That is so much like the signature or the materia medica.
Yes.
Of a remedy or the signature of a remedy. And I remember my Prof. Saying all the time Is like you get the foundation, right? Like the foundation of. For homeopathy, you know, with. With the philosophy of Hahnemann. And then once you get that foundation, that's the science part. And then there's the art of homeopathy. Right. Which is very individual to each patient, but it's also individual to every practitioner. Like, I practice different than other practitioners, and I learn remedies in a different way, and I learn. And that's what he said. Once you've got the foundation, then you can build your house. And I think herbal, like what you're talking about. Also super similar to that, right?
Yes.
Every practitioner can. Can bring. Once they have the philosophy down pat, like with your course, which we'll talk about later. But, you know, once you. Once you've got the. The. That solid foundation and you keep. You keep building on the solid foundation, but then you also build what resonates with you. What.
What.
How you learn at the best. Right. Like, for me, this makes me really excited because I was. I was very. At school, I was really about the signature of, you know, of the plant, of the rock, of the animal, of the venom, of the chemical, of the whatever. Right. They. It's almost like they have their own personality. It was a rock, you know, and looking at the rock going, you know. Well, I was even explaining that to Stephanie today because we were talking about chaga. We just launched. Launched our chaga. And I said, like, look at it. It looks like it's. It's come. It looks like a tumor, right? It's coming out of the tree. It's growing out of this tree, and the tree's still alive.
It's not.
It's not like turkey tail where the tree's already dead. You know, it's. It's coming out of the tree. And so I was trying to describe to her with a signature of that. That Chaga was like, what it. And how similar it is to what it does.
Yeah, like signatures.
The doctrine signatures.
Yeah. Yeah.
It's so fascinating. And it's just, you know, for me, I love storytelling and I love folklore, and I love that really. That really. I don't know, that really creative way that someone would look at something and be able to put that in. So I think when you were saying, like, you might learn 10. So don't get. Get overwhelmed. I feel like everybody will find their way.
You know.
They take that. You're gonna be overwhelmed, but you won't know.
Yeah. Yeah. For sure.
So do you want to talk about Stephanie? Should we answer questions and then Talk about the course. Can we talk about the course first?
What do you want to do?
I'd like to answer a few questions, and then Rita can tell us about her course. I've sent the link out a couple times for anyone that missed it. Hang tight because I'll post it again for you. But there's a couple of really interesting questions here. One of them is, what makes a protein cool or cold? And what makes a protein warm or hot? For example, I'm curious why a pig is cold and a deer is hot.
Hold on. There's something. Sorry, a Q and A thing just popped up on my. Okay. Did I just mess that up?
No, no.
Did I? Okay.
No, no, you're fine. You're good.
Okay. Huh. Well, I can't answer that question. I don't really think about that. Like, I don't think about why pork is cold. It's my experience of it. It's what I've learned. So I used to live on a farm. I'm a very, like, I used to be very hot person, and that was a disease state for me for sure. Now I'm a warm person. I don't eat meat hardly at all. Maybe like 99 to 1% do I eat meat. Usually when I start dreaming about it, which is really weird, but that's what happens to me. I'll start dreaming about it, and it's like, obviously I need some more protein, and it's a very cooling meat. I don't know. Can't tell you what chemical constituents make it, what it is. For me. My herbalism practice is based on my experience of learning and working with animals and helping them with their health problems. I do not practice traditional Chinese medicine. I use some traditional Chinese herbs, for sure. I use a lot of traditional Chinese medicine diagnostics as far as organ systems and stuff. But I find that traditional Chinese medicine energetics, like, if you just Google what proteins are hot, I don't agree with some of them, and what proteins are cool, like turkey. Turkey can go either way. It doesn't go very much, though. Like turkey on the spectrum, I find it more warming than cooling, but it can be slightly warming in some dogs. So a lot of people are looking for that black and white, like, what makes this this and what makes this that. I don't have the answer to the question of what makes pork cool, but I do know that it is a refrigerant, like watermelon, cucumbers, pork. They're refrigerants, which means they really cool off the body. I can eat A pulled pork, just maybe a couple tablespoons and feel a lot cooler than I was before I ate it. Same goes for watermelon. Like, if I am ever, ever too warm, I will go pop some watermelon in my mouth and cool right off. But yeah, I can't answer that question, Stephanie.
Well, I think you kind of did what I think you did, Rita. I mean, that makes sense to me.
Yeah, it's my experience, definitely. But I do, you know, it's not. Energetics isn't just black and white. There's a range. There's a range. And, you know, like, chicken is more warming than turkey, you know, but not all that I found. But how does it sit within your dog? Is the big question. And. Okay, go ahead, Rita.
Excuse me if you've already mentioned this, but how can we figure out where our dog is on the spectrum?
That is a good question. So there are ways to figure it out. I would, you know, first off, I would read the Adored beast introduction to Canine Energetics. Do you have a, I think it's called do you have a hot dog or a cool cat? Which a great title, by the way. There are some characteristics. So like warm dogs, and this is where Julie, you know, we start to observe, we start to pay attention to our dogs. You know, where do they sleep? If you put a blanket over your dog, how long will they stay under that blanket? If you are outside with your dog, where are they laying when it's sunny out? Like, you know, how long do they lay in the sun? Do they lay in the sun for about five to 10 minutes and then go find a shady spot or sitting out there, just, you know, gonna sit out there, just start panting, you know, are they just going to bake in the sun? You know, where they deal with the heat in their house? Are they laying on the cold tile floor all the time or are they laying on a soft, really heat inducing memory foam bed? Because memory foam is very warming. Very few warm dog nose beds, very long. How, like, when you touch them, how warm are they? Do they pant excessively? You know, are they, their behavior, again, observation, like, are they chill? Are they one of those dogs that's just like, dude, you know, I'm gonna sit here on the couch, I'm gonna, we're gonna hang out, watch television and I'm gonna just snuggle up to you, you know, I don't care how warm you are, I'm gonna snuggle up. I'm probably a cool dog. And then, or, you know, a lot of Warm dogs or even hot dogs will have, like, in your face behaviors. They'll be barking all the time. They'll be seeking cool spots. They might excessively pant, depending on where they are on that spectrum. Once you familiarize yourself with that warm to cool spectrum, you can kind of start to tell where your dog is on that spectrum. A healthy dog. If your dog is healthy and has no obvious issues, right, they're probably somewhere between slightly cool to cool and slightly warm to warm, and they're there. Those are healthy dogs, right? Or neutral. Very few. But I have met some neutral dogs that can pretty much eat anything no matter what. Nothing bothers them. They can sit in the sun or sit in the cool, they don't care. But that's very few and far between. But yeah, there's things like that. And then the dampness and the dryness can get a little tricksy. And you kind of need to know some more facts on there. But you know, lipomas. Does your dog have a lipoma? If your dog has lipoma, they're damp. Straight up. You already know that. That's where they are. They're damp, they have stagnation, they're damp. Their liver is not working the way it should. And no, that doesn't mean that it will show up on blood work. So don't worry about asking that question. But my dog's liver is fine on blood work. That doesn't mean anything. That means, Houston, we have a problem. If it's showing up on blood work, that means your liver is having a hard time. Like a hard time. But there's many, many things the body does before it gets to showing up on blood work. We want to keep our dogs off of blood work issues. So, yeah. Did I answer that? I hope I did.
Absolutely. Yeah. You're blowing us away here tonight. There's another interesting one here. She's got an earth coolish dog, but the dog's allergic or sensitive to most proteins except pork and duck. Now, I remember you saying pork was a refrigerant, so now he gets a mix of those two proteins. Can you balance out the cold energy of the pork with other fruits, veggies, mushrooms and herbs?
Yeah. So what I would do is I would make sure your dog is cool, number one. Number two, yes. You can add many, many warming things, like maybe a ginger infusion to that. I would focus on the duck. But here's the thing. Now, this is not part of this conversation, but as Julie would agree, if your dog is sensitive to all proteins, it is a Liver issue. So you want to focus on liver health. And the liver dictates the digestion. So the dog probably has low hydrochloric acid. They're probably not utilizing bile and breaking down fats and oils like they should. They're probably not metabolizing proteins like they should. And that protein is getting into the bloodstream and that causes that attack from the immune system. So we could just blame it all on leaky gut. But leaky gut is just like this umbrella of the liver is not working. The liver is having stagnation. It's probably having congestion in the heat. The liver produces a lot of heat in general for the body. So liver heat isn't always abnormal, but when it gets too hot, it gets really congested. And then you start seeing that digestive system breakdown. And the dog gets sensitive to everything they're eating because. And even environmental allergens, because they can't. The liver just can't.
The liver is not processing it or detoxifying it. I know the amount of people that ask me, why would you. Why did you put liver tonic in.
Your leaky gut protocol?
They just couldn't. They couldn't figure out.
I think putting liver tonic in your leaky gut protocol is brilliant. And that liver tonic is the number one thing of importance in that protocol.
Yeah, it is really important.
It's really important. So I just wanted to put that out there, that, you know, focus on the liver. Focus on. I would say, you know, if you haven't done the leaky gut protocol, I would work on that, work on the gut, work on the microbiome, and those food sensitivities will go away, but you can warm it up. The number one thing I would do if your dog is truly cool is I would do a fresh ginger infusion or decoction, which is simmering it or making it really hot water and leaving it. I would leave it overnight, strain it, and then put it over the pork to heat it up. And I would serve it quite warm.
Awesome. Rita, super helpful. Julie, did you have anything to add?
Well, I mean, you know how I feel about things that are that sensitive to everything. I think it winds up when we think about leaky gut, it. Leaky gut to me is just a. It's almost like a merry go round, right? Like, if you're not dealing with the liver and helping the liver to get stronger and you're allowing the holes in the liver or the holes in the gut to stay there, then that makes the liver more toxic. But then if you're not dealing with the liver, then it destroys your microbiome. Like, it's just. It becomes this. It just becomes this.
Yeah. Everything is connected.
Everything, absolutely every single solitary thing is connected.
It's all connected.
It is. You can't. That's why, you know, sometimes when people look at our Liver tonic too, if we're talking about liver, I try to. I try to support the pancreas, the gallbladder. Gallbladder. And the kidneys. Because when you look at that system, for me, looking at thousands and thousands of blood work, by the time you do see liver enzymes elevated, you've got a massive problem.
Massive problem.
And then if you don't look at all the supporting organs, like the kidneys, like the gallbladder, like the pancreas, if you don't go, okay, all of these guys right now are in red alert because the liver is tanking. So what I always did back then was, which is what Liver Tonic is all about, is I support all of them, right. To make sure that they're all. I gotta fly on my head. She's coming to watch. I support them all so that they maintain we aren't waiting for the kidneys to tank. Right. Because especially in cats, I would see that all the time. Like certain things creeping up. And if you weren't looking at trying to support it all rather than just focusing on one compartmentalizing one thing, then sure enough, you start seeing other things start to go out of whack. Right?
Yeah.
Just like you said. Yeah. Leaky gut, for sure. But if you're not looking at the rest of the system that deals with the sort of increase of inflammatory response that then attacks every protein and causes it to have a sensitivity to it all, you're kind of wasting.
Your.
Wasting your time, in my opinion.
Yeah. And then you get low assimilation and absorption, and then your elimination is also being taxed, and then you get stagnation. So it's. It's just really. It is. And. And I think, you know, just that one of the number one things you can do is support the liver and the kidneys as well as lymphatics. Like, those three things will help the digestion get better and the microbiome, so.
Yep, yep. It's funny how you talk about stagnation and stuff, and when I look at it, it's just different. It's just. It's just different lingo. It's different, different. They're just different modalities in their terminology. Right. And we look at. We look at, you know, the. The chronic inflammatory response and Then the liver being overtaxed by all of this stuff going into the system, and then the liver has to try to try to clean it up. And then. Then low assimilation and malnourishment and then autoimmune disease. I mean, we're talking like, we talk about stagnation. Like, to me, that. But that. That is a. A strong representation of just everything. Like stopping.
Yeah.
Stuck and stopped. And. And how many. How many cancers and how many diseases do we see that just have exactly those symptoms?
Sure, yeah.
Rita, can you touch on false heat?
Yeah. So false heat, it can be very complicated. However, this is the gist of it. So you can have, like, heat from cold. In fact, I had a client today that had heat from cold. And so what happens is heat and what? Heat from cold.
Okay.
Heat from being cold. Yeah, heat from cold. So when the body gets too cold, it can build heat in order to try to adjust itself, because the body is 100% always trying to balance itself. It's amazing that way. And sometimes that can get in the way. You know, inflammation can get in the way. And so what it does is it causes inflammation in order to build heat. And so you have a dog that you feel is very, very warm and hot, and you're giving it cooling proteins, when really you're just exacerbating the issue because it is a cold dog. Okay. And then that's where observations come in, because. And if you feel that your dog might have any type of false heat, you want to work with a professional for that. You want to get some help at least getting on the right path for that. Because like I said, hot and cold are disease states. So we want to make sure that we find the root issue. So for a dog with false feet, it may look warm, but it's not. And so actually warming the. Of the dog, not the periphery, the core of the dog, makes the difference. So, for instance, I'm a warm person. When you feel my skin, I am not necessarily warm. My core is warm. I have internal heat. And whereas a cold dog, they could feel warm. Right. But their core is cool. The core needs warming. Calendula is a lovely herb for warming the core. Sometimes that's hard to figure out, but there are some things to look for. They're much more advanced. And we're going to talk about my course in a minute, But I do cover false heat in my course. It helps you figure that out. It's not something that I could get into right now without talking, probably for the next 45 minutes.
Rita, why don't you tell us about your course?
Okay, so as anyone has listened to me speak over the last, like five, six years, I'm very. I always mention the energetics of herbs and I always mentioned, you know, this dog. This is really good for a more cool dog or this is good for a more warm dog. So I spent the last six months putting together a small, comprehensive introduction to energetics course. And it covers the five tastes, which I'm not going to go into, but it does factor into certain observations on certain herbs and dogs. And then it covers warm to hot, energetics, cool to cold, energetics, dryness and dampness. I have herbs for all of those issues. How to figure out if your dog is warm and cool. I also have a comprehensive list of, I think pretty much anything that you would put in your dog that we can figure out where I do add to it. If someone sends me an email and says, what about kohlrabi? You know, oh, okay, well, this is my experience of kohlrabi and this is what I know about kohlrabi. That's just an example. And then I break down like, I went through a lot of herbal companies for dogs, like dogs nand, I have herbs for all of those issues. How to figure out if your dog is warm and cool. I also have a comprehensive list of, I think pretty much anything that you would put in your dog that we can figure out where I do add to it. If someone sends me an email and say, what about Kohlrabi Naturally Magazine, Adored Beast, different types of really popular supplements and took out all the ingredients of that supplement and made sure those ingredients were on the list. Because sometimes you can look at a formula which I deal with in the course, and is this formula warming or is it cooling or is it just pretty neutral as the Adored Beast Liver Tonic is quite neutral. Oh, okay. Well, this is my experience of kohlrabi and this is what I know about kohlrabi. So it's good for both warm and cool dogs. That's just an example. But and then I break down. Like, I went through a lot of herbal companies for dogs, like Dogs Naturally Magazine, Adored Beast, different types of really popular cold or super hot, you know, is a different story, but in general it's very, very safe. So I cover that in my course and there's some quizzes. They're not mandatory, but they can help you figure out if you're comprehending the material. We also have a private Facebook group for the course to get your questions answered. And I do once A month live Zoom meeting or supplements, and took out all the ingredients of that supplement and made sure those ingredients were on the list. Because sometimes you can look at a formula, which I deal with in the course, and is this formula warming or is it cooling or is it just, you know, pretty neutral? You know, as the adored beast Liver tonic is quite neutral. Things that are recorded for Q and A as well to help get your questions answered. And you can also answer the questions inside, ask questions inside the lesson. And last but not least, my course is for all different types of learning. There's video, there's written and there's audio. All of it is downloadable. There's a print, pd, print PDF and also. So it's good for both. Both warm and cool dogs. Cold PDF, including all the pictures from the course. Good for tablets and phones. Cold or super hot, you know, is a different story, but in general, it's very, very safe. So I cover that in my course. And there's some quizzes. They're not. They're not mandatory, but they can help you figure out. So.
And it's amazing.
Yeah, it's only $55, so affordable. Yeah.
And we're gonna. How are we doing it?
We're gonna.
We're actually gonna do it. Are we doing it as a draw?
We have.
While Rita has three courses that she's giving away tonight. Yeah, we can do a draw.
Well, yeah, I mean, what we. What I thought we could do is.
A draw on your comprehending material. We also have a private Facebook group for the course to get your questions answered. And I do once a month, live Zoom meetings that are recorded for Q and A as well to help get your questions answered. And you can also answer the questions inside. Ask questions inside the lesson, like our.
Facebook page or something. And we can give away three.
Yeah, absolutely.
Like Adorbees can do. Can get. Use them as prizes, right?
Yeah.
Absolutely. So if you want to be entered into the draw.
She said, I'm. Someone just said, I'm not on Facebook. How do we do that? Well, we could also do. How can we do it if they're not on Facebook? Someone else said, I'm not on Facebook.
Okay, if you're.
And last but not least, my course is for all different types of learning. There's video, there's written, and there's audio. All of it is downloadable. There's a print PDF, print PDF and also a PDF including all the pictures from the course. Good for tablets and phone.
On this session tonight, and you want to be entered into the draw. To win one of Rita's brand spanking new energetics courses. Email me and I'll check my inbox. I'll check my inbox in the morning and if. Yeah, absolutely. S T e p h Stephen adoredbeast.com.
That'S a good solution.
Yeah. Send me an email.
So. And it's sounds amazing. Yeah. It's only.
I'll tally things up at 8am Eastern Time tomorrow morning. Shoot me a note.
T. $5. So. Sheesh. Affordable. Yeah.
And we're gonna. How are we doing it?
We're gonna.
We're actually gonna do it. Are we doing it as a draw tonight?
And you'll be entered. We could even draw them live. Get real.
We have.
While Rita has three course crazy.
I'm not for all. All those people down there that said that they're not on Facebook. Don't worry. I'm not on Facebook either. Like the company is, but I know.
Yeah, I use. I use it for my work. I don't do much on Facebook. I don't do much on Facebook. I don't want to.
Anything says that she's giving away tonight. Yeah, we can do a draw.
Well, yeah, I mean, what we. What I thought we could do is a draw on. Yeah, it's great for work, but I get it. So make sure that you email Stephanie.
Yes, please. All right.
Any.
Like our Facebook page or something and we could give away three.
Yeah, absolutely.
Like Adora Beast can do. Can get. Use them as prizes. Right.
Yeah.
Takeaways. Any. Any last thoughts?
Well, there's a couple more questions.
Oh, shoot. We can do some more questions.
Sorry, I totally forgot there. Are there any ways to address energetics with a dog besides diet, herbs and acupuncture? Acupuncture. Excuse me?
Is there any way to address Energetics, acupuncture and diet? I don't understand that question. Your dog.
Absolutely. So if you want to be entered into the draw.
She said. Someone just said, I'm not on Facebook. How do we do that? Well, we could also do. How can we do it if they're not on Facebook? Someone else said, I'm not on Facebook.
Okay.
If you're on. Has to eat. So I don't understand that question. I'm sorry, I don't. You are a draw. Okay, so I can answer it this.
Way on this session tonight. And you want to be entered into the draw to win one of the.
No matter. Okay. So no matter what you do, you're addressing Energetics on a daily basis. Anytime you put something on or in your Dog. When you put something on your dog, Energetics isn't that crazy? Like in your dog, but it still affects the liver. But anytime you put anything in your dog, pharmaceutical, any in spanking new energetics.
Courses, email me and I'll check my inbox. I'll check my inbox in the morning.
And if you put it down.
Yeah, absolutely.
S T E P H Stephdorp. You're addressing Energetics, so I guess you can't. That question isn't valid because it doesn't. It can't happen because you are addressing energetics no matter what you do, right?
Yeah. Whether you're doing it correctly or incorrectly.
Yeah, well, yeah. Whether you're doing it correctly or incorrectly. And of course, you know, correcting incorrect or subjective. But yeah, I mean, whether you're trying to do it or not or you're.
Or you're aware of what you're doing. Yeah.
That'S a good solution.
Yeah. Send me an email. I'll tally things up at 8:00am Eastern Time tomorrow morning. Shoot me a note tonight and you'll be entered. We could even draw them live. Get real.
Whether you're aware of it or not, you're addressing Energetics.
Yeah.
All the time.
Yeah.
Crazy.
I'm not for all the.
For sure question. It's a great question. I like the question because. I mean, yeah, I like the question because it was fun to answer. So. Yes, that's quick.
There's one here that says can energetics be used with sibo? Explain how you calm down people down there that said that they're not on Facebook. Don't worry, I'm not on Facebook either. Sibo using food energetics, herbs, digestive enzymes and probiotics from Donna Milton.
So, yes, energetics can be. Can address sibo. You know, sibo comes from high inflammation, but I know. Yeah, I use it for my work. I don't do much on Facebook. I don't do much on Facebook. I don't do much on anything.
Yeah, it's great for work, but I get it.
So make sure that inflammation in the gut and energetics is a way to calm inflammation. Because again, if you are feeding the incorrect consistently. Remember, we're not talking about a one off thing.
You email Stephanie.
Yes, please. All right, Any tips?
We're talking about consistent feeding. If you are consistently giving your dog improperly energetic food, you are going to be going down the wrong side of that spectrum and your dog's going to be building inflammation.
Takeaways. Any last thoughts?
Well, there's a couple more questions.
Oh, shoot. We can do some more questions.
Sorry, I totally forgot there.
Either way. So with sibo. Sibo is a disease state. So we've got. Are there major issues with the gut? Doesn't mean that sibo can't be cured and balanced out because it can. So you would look at your probiotics and you would look at any ways.
To address energetics with a dog besides diet, herbs and acupuncture.
You would look out the way that the what you're doing with the gut, you know, to get the nitty gritty. You would look at, you know, most like acupuncture. Excuse me, Is there any way to address energetics, not acupuncture and diet. Your dog does not have. Has improper levels of what's called glycocalyx and iga. And a good remedy for that. And Julie may have. I don't understand that question. Well, your dog. A comment on this is a little yeast called Saccharomyces bolidardae. Usually about a month's worth. Or maybe with Sibo, more maybe like has to eat. So I don't understand that question. I'm sorry, I don't. A month to two months will bring up that glycocalyx level and bring up that level. You are. Okay, so I can answer it this way so that when you feed, no matter. Okay. So no matter what you do your probiotics, different strains of probiotics, even a fecal implant won't adhere if the glycocalyx is not synergetics on a daily basis, anytime you put something on or in your dog, when you put something on your dog, energetic at proper levels. So once you get those levels correct, then commensal bacteria can actually propagate and proliferate and will balance out that pathogenic bacteria. Julie, do you have anything to say about that?
Yeah. And from a diet perspective, isn't that.
Crazy like in your dog. But it still affects the liver. But anytime you put anything in your dog, pharmaceutical, any what's.
What I've used in the past for, for a really long time is there's. There's so much, there's so much research.
You're addressing energetics. So I guess you coming out lately.
About high five, higher fiber diets with animals. But you have to be super careful with fiber.
With Sibo, that question isn't valid because it doesn't. It can't happen because you are.
Because sibo feeds on fiber, right? So the more fiber that there is in the small intestine, the.
Energetics no matter what you do.
Right?
Yeah. Whether you're doing it correctly or incorrectly.
Yeah, well, yeah, Whether you're doing it correctly or incorrectly. And of course, you know, correcting incorrect or subjective. But yeah, more it will just explode.
So when you're using. It's about the only time when I tell people not to use. Well, to be very careful of their prebiotics. I'm not going to say I don't use prebiotics. I'm a big, huge believer.
I mean, whether you're trying to do.
It or not or you're aware of what you're doing. Prebiotics for the, for the lower bowel, but we have to be really, really.
Careful whether you're aware of it or not. You're addressing energetics all the time.
Yeah. Careful of using prebiotics in sibo, especially if they're like multi dextrose and things like that. High sugar ones. You have to be very, very, very careful. For sure.
It's a great question. I like the question because. I mean. Yeah, I like the question because it was fun to answer. So. Yes, that's a good question.
So what I've been doing with sibo is actually, is actually using our turkey tail as a prebiotic and then looking more at. There's one here that says can energetics be used with sibo? Explain how you calm down sibo using food energetics, herbs, digestive enzymes and probiotics from Donna Milton.
So yes, energetics can address sibo. Sibo comes from high inflammation in the gut and energetics is a way to calm inflammation. Because again, if you are feeding at natural.
Using natural probiotics, like not an actual probiotic or using phytos like that. But you have to be really careful with using prebiotics in general with sibo and including not too many vegetables and too much fiber because it just explodes. It just proliferates. The bacteria, the pathogenic.
Yeah, I definitely just use. I recommend just the meat, bone and organ. No veg. Yeah. Get it under control.
Under control, yeah.
Yeah, definitely. I like that the incorrect consistently. Remember we're not talking about a one off thing and I like the. I like the mushroom approach.
Yeah, it's a really, it's just a different way of looking at prebiotics altogether. Like turkey tail is incredible. The more I'm delving into the prebiotic effect of turkey tail, the more I'm seeing like incredible, incredible things with it. It's amazing.
Yeah, mushrooms are great. It's properly extracted. So had put that in there. Sorry. There we go. Sorry. Sorry. Okay. Any other questions? I think we've just, we're talking about consistent feeding. If you are consistently giving your dog improperly energetic food, you are going to be going down the wrong side of that specific. And your dog's going to be building inflammation.
Just about covered everything.
Either way. So with Sibo, Sibo is a disease state. So we've got.
You already talked about energetics changing. Is it possible for a dog's energetics to change?
You said major issues with the gut doesn't mean that sibo can't be cured and balanced out because it can. So you would look at your probiotics and you would look at.
Yes, you can slide down that graph fairly easily.
Yes, yes. And the big guys, the big guys can do it pretty easily too, like vaccinations. And you can have a puppy, you can have a lovely little puppy born just basically warm or cool. And then you start and then you give them that puppy vaccine and then it starts to go south and then you worm them. Dogs are wormed for no at your. You would look out the way that what you're doing with the gut, you know, to get the nitty gritty, you would look at, you know, most likely your dog does not have. Has improper levels of what's called glycocalyx and reason like they're wormed just because I guess that's what you do. Even though there's no worms apparent anywhere. Like you test their stool, a puppy stool, and there's no worms and they still worm them. So like the standard of care for puppies, IGA and a good remedy for that. And Julie may have a comment on this is little yeast called Saccharomyces bolidarte. I think that I believe the stand up care for puppies sets them up for failure, you know, and so that it starts to go south right there. But you can turn it around. You can definitely turn it around. Usually about a month's worth or maybe with sibo, more maybe like a homeopathy I think is really great at turning puppies around really quickly. You know, I have a non vaccinated, non wormed puppy right now, Figgy Nubbins. And a month to two months will bring up that glycocalyx level and bring up that level of, you know, I just can't tell you how great she is. She's just absolutely wonderful and she can eat anything right now. I don't feed anything every day ever. So but I try not to. I try to give her a good variety of things and I do see healing on her, but I love, you know, and I was nervous, I was nervous when I didn't vaccinate her as a puppy. I, you know, I was like, oh God, you know, I had the parvo. Homeopathics. I had, you know, I had everything. I'm ready. But nothing happened to her. She was great. And so. But you know, we don't all have that. We don't all have that. A lot of us have rescue dogs. A lot of us have purchased puppies that people that vaccinate them and warn them before they even get to you. So. And that's a different story. But anyways, I've really enjoyed being here. Totally.
And then. And Peter had said that they, he's heard that homeopathy also has energetics, meaning hot and cold. 100%. They do.
Yes.
And all you have to do is.
Look at the bacteria. Yeah. I don't think that it's as forceful as mature plants because. So that when you feed probiotics, different strains of probiotics, even a fecal implant won't adhere if the glycocalyx is not at proper levels. So once you get those levels correct, then commensal bacteria can actually propagate and proliferate and will balance out that pathogenic bacteria. Julie, do you have anything to say about that?
Yeah.
And from a diet perspective, it's vibrational and energetic. I don't think it's forceful. So if, you know, if a plant really resonates like, you know, I've used homeopaths.
What's what I've used in the past, the calendula.
I can't use the mother tincture. I can't use it as plant, but I can use the homeopathic. But I, it does still give me.
A little for a really long time is. There's, there's so much, there's so much research coming, coming out lately about high 5 higher fiber diets.
I use it acutely.
I'm just gonna say that because I think with animals, but you have to be super careful with fiber with Sibo because think that, that it's also in the diseased state like you said. Right. So I think homeopathy, you don't have to worry about it. I mean definitely it leads you to the right remedy. Like I said, your knee better with cold as SIBO feeds on fiber. Right. So. So the more fiber that there is in the, in the, the small intestine, the this, the mold on it or hot on it is your, you know, you know, do you seek out warmth or you just do you seek out cold. Like it's. Every single. Every single remedy has that in it. Right.
Hot and cold. They call more.
It will just explode. So when you're using. It's about the only time when I tell modalities. Hot or cold modalities. But sometimes a cold person can be. Or a cold dog can be in an acute hot state. People not to use. Well, to be very careful of their prebiotics.
Yes. Right.
So they may. So an acute remedy may not be their constitutional remedy.
Yeah. And it's a constitutional remedy that you would need to be straight on because you're taking it.
I'm not gonna say don't use prebiotics. I'm a big, huge believer in prebiotics for the. For the lower bowel. But we have to be really, really careful.
But that is something I want to. Before I leave.
Careful of using prebiotics in sibo, especially.
If they're acute issues. You always treat the acute issue first before dealing with the chronic. You are going to. And sometimes an herb that is really good for that acute issue may not.
Be energetic multidextrin and things like that. High sugar ones. You have to be very, very, very carefully appropriate.
And that's fine because again, it's consistent.
So what I've been doing with SIBO is actually. Is actually using our turkey tail as a prebiotic and then looking more at.
Giving of that particular plant consistency at natural.
Using natural.
And so and an acute remedy, you might only take it one time. You know, you may only take it for two days and it clears it up. I see this in UTIs all the time. So there is that.
Biotics like not an actual probiotic or using like the fight like phytos. Yeah. And I think that's why you said homeopathy is so great for puppies.
It is.
Their vitality is so strong.
Yeah. That.
That you give them the remedy and just. It just. Or anything like that. But you have to be really careful with using prebiotics in general. With sibo, it's And. And including notch shifts, but everything back into homeostasis. Right.
Yeah.
I know horses are the same way. Like they routinely warm horses like every.
Three months at this break. Yeah.
It's breaking really brutal.
Horses. You know, for me, my horses worm themselves a lot.
Go find too many vegetables and too much fiber because it just.
It just plants that would, you know, worm themselves and, you know, just worming. Your horse explodes.
It just proliferates. The bacteria, the path.
Yeah. I definitely with no, test. It just. Oh, my God, it makes me frown.
Keeping their immune system strong.
Just use. I recommend just the meat, bone and organ. No, no veg. Yeah, I get it. Under control.
Under control, yeah.
Yeah, definitely. I like that.
Worms are parasites. They're parasitic. Right. They're. They're opportunists. So feeding them, keeping your gut, their guts healthy, they shouldn't, you know, a small amount of worms are not the worst thing in the world. That's the other thing, is that we want to clear everything all the time. And a small amount of parasites and.
I like the mushroom approach.
Yeah, parasites is not the worst thing in the world.
It's the worm load that's the problem. Like, what is the worm load? Because worms are part of. They're just part of nature, you know, and some worms are beneficial. There's some great research coming out about.
It's a really. It's just a different way of looking at prebiotics altogether. Like, turkey tail is incredible. The more I'm delving into the prebiotic effect of turkey tail, the more I'm.
Seeing, like, incredible how some worms are actually beneficial. And, you know, I mean, you know, the whip worms, the round worms, blah, blah, blah, blah. But, you know, there's lots of worms that we don't address on a normal everyday basis. And some of them are actually beneficial. But yeah, I'm not a big believer in worming just because. And you should not warm your dog just because.
No, for sure.
Or cats or horses.
Incredible things with it. It's amazing.
Yeah, mushrooms are great. It's properly extracted, so had. Put that in there. Sorry. There we go. Sorry, sorry. No, get a fecal, make sure that the worm load is high.
You know, make sure that you're specific to those parasites too, that you're not just giving.
Okay. Any other questions?
I think we've just broad spectrum that kills everything, including every single healthy bacteria in the gut.
Yeah. That's why I'm not a big believer in giving your dogs black walnuts. About.
Covered everything. You already talked about energetics changing. Is it possible for a dog's energetics to change, you said?
Yeah. And clove and wormwood. Just because. Don't do that because they don't need that. They need it when they need it, but they don't need it just because. Yeah.
Incredible. That was a guess. You can slide down that graph fairly easily.
Yes, yes. You know, and incredible.
What a great session. Thank you, Julie. Thank you, Rita, for joining us tonight.
Thank you very much. Thank you so much for having me. Okay.
You're welcome. Thank you for joining us.
And then, you know, and the big guys. The big guys can do it pretty easily too, like joining us. Okay.
It's always fun. You guys should always.
Vaccinations and, you know, you can have a puppy. You can have a lovely little puppy.
See our little pre ramble before we get on.
It's always a blast.
Special order only the bloopers. Thanks, everyone. We love y'. All.
Good day. Bye. Bye. Born, you know, just basically warm or cool. And then you start, and then you give them that puppy vaccine and then it starts to go south and then you worm them. Dogs are wormed for no reason. Like, they're wormed just because. I guess that's what you do. Even though there's no worms apparent anywhere. So if, you know, if a plant really resonates, like, you know, I've used homeopathic calendula. I can't use the mother tincture. I can't use it as a plant, but I can use the homeopathic. But it does still give me a little warmth. I use it acutely.
I'm just gonna say that because I think that it's also in the disease state, like you said. Right. So I think homeopathy, you don't have to worry about it. I mean, definitely it leads you to the right remedy. Like I said, your knee better with cold on it or hot on it. Is your, you know. You know, do you seek out warmth or you just. Do you seek out cold? Like it's. Every single. Every single remedy has that in it. Right. Hot and cold, they're called modalities. Hot, hot or cold modalities. But sometimes a cold person can be. Or a cold dog can be in an acute hot state.
Yes. Right.
So they may. So an acute remedy may not be their constitutional remedy.
Yeah. And it's a constitutional remedy that you would need to be straight on because you're taking it. But that. That is something I want to say before I leave. Acute issues, you always treat the acute issue first before dealing with the chronic. And sometimes an herb that is really good for that acute issue may not be energetically appropriate. And that's fine because, again, it's consistent giving of that particular plant consistency. And so. And an acute remedy, you might only take it one time. You know, you may only take it for two days, and it clears it up. I see this in UTIs all the time. So there is that.
Yeah. And I think that's why you said homeopathy is so great for puppies.
It is.
Their vitality is so strong that you give them the remedy and just shift. It just shifts everything back into homeostasis. Right.
Yeah, I know.
Horses are the same way. Like, they routinely worm horses, like every three months. Yeah. It's brutal. Really brutal.
Horses, you know, for me, my horses worm themselves a lot. They would go find plants that would, you know, worm themselves and, you know, just worming your horse with no test, it just. Oh, my God, it makes me frown.
Keeping their immune system strong. Worms are parasites. They're parasitic, right.
They're.
They're opportunists. So feeding them, keeping your gut, their guts healthy, they shouldn't, you know, a small amount of worms are not the worst thing in the world. That's the other thing is that we want to clear everything all the time. And a small amount of parasites is not the worst thing in the world.
It's a worm load. That's the problem. Like what is the worm load? Because worms are part of, they're just part of nature, you know, and some worms are beneficial. There's, there's some great research coming out about how some worms are actually beneficial. And you know, I mean, you know, the whip worms, the round worms, blah blah blah blah, but, but you know, there's lots of worms that we don't address on a normal everyday basis and so of them are actually beneficial. But yeah, I'm not a big believer in worming just because, and you should not worm your dog just because.
No for sure. Or cats or horses.
No, get a fecal, make sure that the worm load is high.
