Hi, this is Rita Hogan and welcome to the Dogs Are Individuals podcast. I'm a clinical canine herbalist and I've been practicing for over 20 years. This podcast is all about your dog through an herbal lens. So let's get to it and dive right in. Hi everyone. Welcome to another short. This is Rita Hogan and we are going to talk about something exciting today. I'm not going to tell you right away, but we have a new sponsor and I'm kind of excited about it. It's a company called Earth Buddy pet. Earth Buddy, earthbuddypet.com and EarthBuddy makes CBD products and they make dog treats. And what I like about them is that they actually grow their own hemped on a small farm in Longmont, Colorado. How fun is that? They make all of their stuff from their own, like single origin hemp. So, you know, that's interesting because then they don't have that like third party traceability and they know exactly where their products are coming from. So I like this company. There are a lot of hemp companies out there. There's a lot of CBD products out and there's a lot of good products out there. It's hard to stand out in the marketplace of CBD right now because the market is so saturated. You know, I sell a lot of CBD on my website for sure. I love to meet new companies that are doing good things and Earthbuddy sent me a nice little box of goodies. They have a paw and skin balm that looks kind of like a lip Balm. It's 25 milligrams. That's kind of fun. They have a product called Balance, which is a 500 milligram CBD and CBDA. It's a one to three ratio for dogs. And this is a nice product. I am going to start trying it on my pets, the ones that I feel that can benefit from cbd. As you know, I am a dog as an individual person and not every dog can benefit from, from CBD in my opinion, if it's not energetically appropriate for them. My dogs are nice and cool and they definitely, I would say every single one of them actually can benefit from cbd. And I do give them CBD on a regular basis. So I'm gonna give this one a try in upcoming episodes. I'm gonna like get into their different products and what I love about them, I just need, you know, some time to sit with them. But their CBD looks really great. It's CBD and CBDA and then they have a Lovely Immune tincture, which is allergy and immune support for dogs and cats with mushrooms and elderberry extract. I like their formula and it is a fruiting body and mycelium of agaricus and cordyceps, lion's mane, turkey tail and elderberry extract. I find that a very interesting formula. So I'm excited to give that a try as well. They do have other products and I'm going to go over them in future episodes of our shorts, but I'm going to give myself a little time to try some of them. The lovely people at Earth Buddy gave us a coupon for our podcast. The gifts just keep on coming to try on their website. 20% off. That's a lot. Herbal buddy 20. All lower caps. Herbal buddy 20. Check it out. Okay. It's earthbuddypet.com. it will also be in the notes of the podcast. So stay tuned for my experience of Earth Buddy. And again, I love that they grow their own hemp on their little farm. And it's Organic Farm in Longmont, Colorado. Remember, when you are dealing with any type of hemp product, make sure it's organic. Okay? You know, if it's a small, small company and they can't afford to be certified organic, just make sure they're growing their own product. Growing organically, this is what Earth Buddy is doing. It's definitely an organic small farm. And what another thing I love about them, organic products, don't spay, don't spray, pesticides. And they made it a point on their website to say it. And that's the biggest thing for me. You know, if someone's doing something awesome, look for the brag, because you need to brag. You need to brag that you're doing something awesome. You need to let people know, hey, we don't spray anything on our hemp. They actually use an aquaponic system that uses the water from the glacier melt in the Rocky Mountains. And it's interesting. It's kind of. It reminds me of biodynamics, but it involves fish, frogs, turtle water, sun, air, regenerative farming. And that's, you know, that's where we need to go. We need to go to regenerative farming because that is how we take care of the Earth and take care of ourselves all at the same time. So, Earth buddy, earthbuddypet.com. check it out. Use the coupon. Okay. The coupon again is herbal buddy 20. Okay, so this is a short. We're going to talk about yours truly. In a way, I'm not much of the Brag. However, just like I said, sometimes you got to brag. And I have been asked to come back and speak at an event in Newport beach this year on September 30th and October 1st. And it's Newport beach and it's the thriving Pet Expo. I did this conference or summit or expo, however you want to look at it, or whatever you want to say. I did this expo last year and it was fantastic. It definitely was one of the best ones I've ever been to. And the reason why is it wasn't very big, you know, it wasn't gargantuan. I didn't feel lost. I got to listen to every speaker. That's another thing I didn't have to choose. I didn't have to choose which speaker I wanted to listen to. And it was, let's see, it was me, Katie Kangas, Dr. Judy Morgan, Barry Sands, Odette Souter, Julie Ann Lee. Well, there was really fun. There was like certain vendors that got up and spoke. And, you know, I have to tell you, I listened to a talk from Small Batch Raw Dog Food and I was blown away by their talk. Another one is that's how I met Ruby from Real Dog Box at this conference. And her talk blew me away. They're only about 10 minutes long, but wow. I really. I was like, not expecting a lot, you know, to learn a lot. And I. I had to sit down and listen and be like, wow, okay, I did not know that. So I really love that. And this is last year it was a. It was one day and this year it's two days. So it's two days of interactive learning. And this year, the speakers are Billy Holcomb. Love Billy. He is the vice president and nutrition and communication kind of person for Green Juju. Him and Kelly Martin run Green Juju. Green Juju is just a wonderful company that is doing. They're like a supplement kind of dog food company. Dog treat, dog food, dog fresh food, supplements for dogs. Billy works with farmers directly and lots of regenerative farming. Again, you know, that's where it's at. He talks all around the world and people listen because Billy is a little walking brain of wonder and trust. You know, he really knows what he's talking about. And I can't wait to listen to Billy talk because actually I have never heard him speak before. I was, you know, I'm out there speaking myself and sometimes I don't get to sit and listen to people speak. And I've never heard him live before. I'm pretty excited about it. Then we have Dr. Katie Woodley. She is an integrative holistic veterinarian. One thing that Dr. Katie Woodley has done recently that I think is fad tabulous is she made a meme that said, you cannot out supplement a bad diet. And that is for chisel on the risle like that is. That is speaking my speak and music to my ears. No, you cannot out supplement a bad diet. You gotta fix the diet. And I love that. She gained my respect right away when she said that. I just was. My passion for her just went through the roof. Love it. So I'm excited about her. She's coming to speak, and she's a wonderful holistic vet, and she truly is holistic. So I'm excited about that. Katie Kangas is returning to the thriving pet expo. She's an integrative veterinarian. She focuses on health and nutrition and natural healing. And she's definitely wants you to get in that preventative mindset, which you all know. I love the preventative mindset. So she uses, you know, acupuncture, herbs, homeopathy, essential oils, and definitely food therapy. So she's coming to speak. And then there is Dr. Barry Sands. And a lot of people that I know don't know who Dr. Barry Sands is, but she was actually last year, she was the holistic vet of the year. And like you, I. I didn't know who she was, but I saw her speak last year, and again, I had to sit down and take my jaw off the table and put it back up. It was amazing. It was so transformational. She was talking about vibration and how we share our vibration with dogs and our animals, which I, you know, I talk about all the time. But she really brought some of the science into it and had some really great graphs and some really wonderful points about that. And one thing I didn't know is that Dr. Sands is a certified trainer for the institute for of HeartMath. And if you guys don't know what HeartMath is, check it out. It's a website. It's called heartmath.com. it's all about our regulation of our heart and our heart energy and everything that you can possibly think of having to do with the heart. And one of the concepts that I love in holistic medicine is if you can regulate your heart and get your heart super healthy and your vibration of your heart in sync with your surroundings. Well, actually, it dictates your surroundings and how they are syncing up with everything else, how everything else in your body kind of falls into place. And that's definitely an interesting theory. And the HeartMath Institute is just, I mean once you get on your website that you just really can't get off, it's just mind blowing. So she is a certified trainer at the Institute of Heart Math and she teaches emotional self regulation. She helps with people, help building resilience. And she is definitely, I would definitely say a pioneer in like not just integrative care, but interspecies care and how we are all connected and everything's connected. And if anyone has heard me speak before, everything is connected. So I can really get behind Dr. Barry Sands. So I can't wait to hear her speak again. And then we have the lovely Julianne Lee from Adored Beast Apothecary. She is definitely an expert in the microbiome. And Julianne is doing some amazing, amazing, transformational, just forward thinking projects right now with the earth, with forests and permaculture and making this earth a better place before she leaves it. Like you know, leaving our planet a better place, I think is all of our jobs. Like this is the job that we are out to do. And it can be in any way, right? In any way. Leaving your family better, leaving your community better, leaving your animals better. Just moving forward on the planet, helping things move forward in a, in a more cohesive, interconnected way. And Julianne does that every day. And I love hearing her speak. I love hearing what she's up to. I love hearing her the science behind things. I love hearing the theory behind things. I love how she mixes traditional with science. So I'm excited to hear her speak too. And she is definitely a forward thinking microbiome expert. And then right from the microbiome comes, well, the Dukie. And an expert In Dukie is Dr. Odette Souter. Dr. Odette, she is a veterinarian. She's a holistic veterinarian from Switzerland and she lives here in the United States. And she's the poop expert. You can always see her wearing her little poop hat. And she does a lot of fecal transplant education and teaching about longevity for animals and, and I'm excited to hear her speak. And she has a book called what yout Vet Never Told you'd. Great book, wonderful book. So those are the speakers that I am speaking with this year and I'm speaking there as well. I am definitely a speaker when you, you know, I think everyone should consider coming to this conference. I think it's a max of 300 people. So you want to get your tickets as soon as you Can. Newport beach is lovely, but what's cool about this conference is it's definitely interactive, you know, interactive learning. And they are going to have multiple Q and A sessions with everyone so that you can ask questions and get your questions answered by a panel of speakers and, you know, live and in person. Right. Another thing I love is that there is limited seating. It's not a thousand people, it's not 1500 people, it's not 2000 people. It's a maximum of 300 people. And every seat at the conference is a good seat. Yep. They've got VIP seating and they've got preferred seating, but every seat is a good seat. I sat in the back of the room right next to the. What do you call it? Like, they had cookies and water and juices and I mean, it was amazing what was offered while you were listening to speakers in the back of the room. So I was taking little, you know, sips of lovely waters and different types of cookies. They had gluten free, which no one hardly ever has gluten free for me, for anything because I am 100% gluten free. And so it was nice to actually have a snack. They had these little jars of honey there. Oh, my God, I love them. I love anything small. And so they were tiny and it was tiny Raw Honey and it was the cutest thing I've ever seen. And it was for the tea. Oh, my God, I was in love. They had me at Raw Honey. But anyways, I was sitting in the back and perfect seating, perfect seat in the back because it's not so big. So I wanted to let you know about this wonderful, wonderful event and you can find out more at thriving pet expo.com. you can see the schedule, you can buy tickets. There's a hotel. You can also do Airbnb there. I think they're going to start a little like kind of private Facebook group for accommodation sharing to make it more affordable for people. There is a coupon for VIP. Oh, no. For 20% off of tickets right now. And it's called Thriving. All Capitals Thriving. And there's some great vendors coming. There's Honey Cure, there's real Dog Box, there's real mushrooms. Green Juju is going to be there. Primal Foods, Earth Buddy, Adored Beast, Apothecary, OC Raw, Small Batch Honey Cure. So, you know, we just, we just love coming together as people. Right. And we want to get involved and we want to feel jazzed and these types of things can keep you really excited for a whole year. Oh, oh, wait. And I forgot two crazy cat ladies are going to be there. Adrian and Jay are making appearances at this thriving pet expo. They are going to do some fun stuff during the expo. And another thing which has never been the norm in anything I've ever spoke at is they have wonderful food. I mean really wonderful food. Fresh food, healthy food, and you know, some treats as well. But Hippocrates said, let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food. And you know when you're talking about the importance of diet and you're learning about different things throughout the day and then you eat lunch and they're serving McDonald's or some type of fast food or, you know, pigs in a blanket, it doesn't really go well. It doesn't sit well with me. And they had the most beautiful food last year, just so good and so healthy. So I'm excited about it. Check it out. Thriving Pet Expo. This has been a little, little longer of a short. It's our longest short yet. So it's maybe we want to call it a medium.
