Oftentimes clients think that they don't need a new EIN number for the LLC because they already have one from when they were operating as a sole proprietor, but that is not the case. Also, if you start a new business, then you're also going to need to get a new EIN number for that business, and you cannot use the existing EIN number that you have. EIN numbers are tied to each business and not necessarily the individual, so check to see whether your LLC has a separate EIN number connected to it. To do this, you'll want to check the EIN letter that you got from the IRS and make sure that it has your LLC name on it and says 'sole' or 'MBR' next to your name.
